Chapter 117

I’m in this town in the middle of nowhere, for a Gamma meeting. I have no idea why they chose to do this here. The man in front is talking away and I should probably be listening, but I’m so bored. I keep spinning my pen on the table, it’s the only form of entertainment I have at the moment.
He finally closes the meeting and I go to the office to get some coffee. “Well, that was a tough one.” Some Gamma says talking to me, I nod my head in agreement. “We’re all going to go to the local bar, around eight. You wanna join?” I nod in agreement again, my face stoic. I hate coming to these things, ‘protect your Luna’. Okay got it. Though my Alpha, won’t take a Luna. Regardless of his dad pushing for it.
He’s still waiting for Amy to come back. Everybody else has accepted the fact that she probably never is. I’m sure there’s a glimmer of hope in all of us, but her father made it clear he was going to kill her. As hard as it is to accept, Amy’s gone.
I get to the bar later, after I showered and changed. Not really wanting to do this but wanting to get my mind off of things. One of the Gamma’s orders a round of beers and starts talking about how sexy one of the waitresses is, while we wait for the beers. I look over to the bar, curious. They’re two waitresses behind the bar, but one looks like she’s rounding fifties. So, I focus on the other one. She’s probably around five-seven and long black hair pulled back into a ponytail. I can’t see her face though.
I sigh and look back at our conversation. I’m not talking much, just listening to their stories. About an hour goes by and one of the Gamma’s Herald, looks over at some commotion at the bar. Some drunk guy has that black haired waitress by the arm, starting a small scene.
I get up, because she doesn’t seem to be able to get out of his grasp, and head over to help. Once I’m over there I hear the girl say her name is Lulu.
Why does that voice sound so familiar? My eyes jolt up to hers, her beautiful bright blue eyes, on fire looking straight at this guy’s soul. I growl escapes my lips before I can control it, and before I realize it the guy is on the ground. I stand over him, trying to control my shift, trying not to kill him for touching her. We’re in human lands, after all.
Then I hear it, “Dallas?” Her sweet, unforgettable voice rings through my ears. Amy, is it really her? I slowly turn my head, scared to look and see it not being her. For the first time in what feels like ages I smile, “Hey Aims.” Her eyes go wide as she stares at me. I finally found her,
She seems to rush through many emotions, but then runs to the side of the bar so she can exit. She races over to me, pulling my arm. I let her pull me all the way out of the bar, and before she can speak, I throw her in my arms and spin her around in circles. I hear her squeal and laugh, just like old times. “Dallas! Put me down!” She yells at me, and for once I listen. We need to talk; we need to talk now.
Once her feet land on the ground, she looks up at me, looking over my whole body before they land on my face. Her eyes are filled with unshed tears. Before she says anything, she throws herself into my arms for another hug. I hold her tight; I can’t let her go, not again. “We missed you to, Aims.” I whisper, kissing the top of her head. Fuck, I missed her. I can’t believe she’s here.
She pulls back, tears streaming down her eyes now. “What are you doing here?” She whispers, and then her eyes go wide, and she starts frantically looking around. “We’re you followed?” I shake my head, “No, Aims…” She cuts me off. “No, he might have been watching you guys. Fuck.” She goes to turn away from me, and head back inside. I grab her arm. “Aims, I wasn’t followed I was here for a meeting.” I try to tell her, but she’s done
