Chapter 118

No, this isn’t happening again. I jump into my car and race after her. I pull up to her car, in front of a run-down crappy house. She must rent here. I’m about to knock on the door when it swings open. Amy’s eyes widen when she sees me, but my eyes are focused on the child she has cradled in her arms and the one standing in front of her ready to fight me.

My eyes wide land back on Amy’s, “He looks just like him.” I whisper in disbelief. Amy closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. “I look like my daddy! Do you know my daddy?” The little boy looks up at me. “I do, little man.” I answer, there’s no way this isn’t Liam’s kid.

“Come on, Griffon. Let’s get into the car.” Amy says as she passes by me. She walks to the car and puts the little girl into her car seat, she’s still sleeping. Griffon gives me a few skeptical looks but listens to his mom and gets into his side of the car.

Once she closes the door, she looks straight at me. She leans against the car and puts her thumb and forefinger against the bridge of her nose. “Dallas, I… If he followed you, all of us are in danger. Now you know why I can’t risk it. They were marked before they were even born. I’m figuring it out, I’m so close. As soon as I finish him, they will be in your lives I promise. But letting them go back to that pack, will just put all of you in danger again. I won’t allow it.” She finishes looking at me sadly. “Let us help you! That’s all we want. It’s all we’ve ever wanted! Please Amy!” I plead, I can’t let her run again. I can’t.

She sighs, leans on her tippy toes and puts her hands on my chest. I instantly throw my arms around her waist. She kisses my cheek and leans over to my ear. “Tell him I miss him.” She whispers, she stands still for a moment and falls back, fainting in my arms.

I look down, what the hell? Just then Griffon opens her door and sticks his head over the roof. “Mommy fainted. She needs to rest. I’ll bring Heather back inside.” I look at him confused; he’s acting like this is normal. “Does mommy do this often?” I ask, trying to keep the worry out of my voice. “It started about a year ago. She says she’s fine, but it means she needs rest.” I look down at Amy, this isn’t okay.

I look back at my car and then to hers. “Alright Griffon, can you get anything essential out of mommy’s car and bring it to mine. I think your mommy needs to see a doctor.” His eyes shoot to Amy, as in deciding if I’m lying or not. Accesses the risk and decides he’s going to listen. I place Amy in my passenger seat and go to get Heather. When I bend down, I can see the resemblance. She does look a lot like Amy’s mom and Amy. Once I get finished moving car seats and making sure nothing important is left in the car, I jump in the driver’s seat and head down the road.
