What is going on? Is this real? I swear if I wake up after this and it’s all a dream, I’m done. I can’t believe they’re all here. I can’t believe she had my children. Somewhere in my mind, I know I’m furious, but I can’t be mad looking at these two angels. She raised our babies by herself.
I look up at her and look into her eyes. Her eyes are brimming with tears, she seems so overjoyed right now. Her hand over her heart, then she looks over at Dallas. I can see the way she’s trying to say something with her eyes, I need to talk to him. Did he just find her? Or has he known where she was this whole time? I’ll literally kill him, if he’s known. I spent most of my days and nights trying to find her. Any time I wasn’t working on becoming the Alpha, was spent searching for her.
I want to ask their names, but I get tongue tied. A father should know the names of his babies. Amy walks over to us and bends down on her knees. “Griffon, Heather, I think we should get to bed. You can spend tomorrow with daddy. Okay?” She says as she looks into my eyes giving me a knowing look. Griffon jumps up, “Daddy! Mommy told us your house has a bunch of rooms. Can we stay here in one of them? Please!” He pleads, I smile, because I have zero intention of them leaving. Amy looks at me worried. She doesn’t think I’ll want them here, or she’s worried I won’t want her here. “Of course. Why don’t you two run upstairs and pick out a room.” They jump out of my arms and run upstairs. My arms instantly feel empty as I watch them go.
Amy and I both stand up at the same time, looking into each others’ eyes. “Dallas, go make sure the kids find a room.” I tell him without breaking eye contact with her. I hear him run up the stairs quickly, probably not wanting to be here for this.
Amy starts to say something and then stops. Goddess, I’m so angry at her, but the way her cheeks have started to flush. Her gaze falls to my arm, and it’s like a complete one eighty. Her whole expression changes, and she can’t look me in the eye anymore. She looks upset, but before I can say anything her phone starts ringing.
She rushes to grab it and throws it to her ear. She walks away from me, but not far enough away that I can’t hear her. “I know.” She says frustrated. “I did go home. He took me…”. She pauses and looks at me, opening the door and closing it behind her. I lean closer to the door so I can still hear her. “Look he took me when I had an episode, I had no choice in the matter.” She starts listening for a while. An episode? “Just bring everything here. We’ll just leave from here.” My heart skips a beat, she’s not staying. “I’ll see you tomorrow, and don’t forget.” They must interrupt her. “Yeah, I didn’t have time to put it all together. Make sure you get all of it.” ” Okay, bye.” She finishes the call and goes to sit down on the porch. I watch her through the window and see her
throw her head in her hands.
I have so many questions for her, so many things to say. Why is it, that the only thing I want to do right now is hold her? Dallas walks up behind me placing a hand on my shoulder. “She’s not happy about the way I got her to come. She’s extremely worried about her father finding them. She says he marked them before they were even born.” He says and I look back out at the window at her. “How does he know about them? And how did you get her here?” I ask, hating the fact that I know nothing right now. “I’m not sure about how he knows about them, but I got her here because she fainted in my arms out of no where. I think we need to schedule an appointment for her, she seemed unwilling to help herself.” He looks down with sad eyes.
Fainted? Why would she have fainted? I nod towards the stairs. It’s time he tells me everything he knows. Dallas sticks his head outside to tell her which rooms her kids chose and followed me towards the office.
After Dallas tells me his whole story, we leave the office. I go look into the room that the kids chose and see Amy tucked in between them. An arm holding both of them close. I watch them all sleep, staring at my family. Amy and I have a lot to go over, but even if we don’t make it out of this together, she gave birth to my children. We’ll
