Chapter 136

Dallas walks to the door and opens it, this must be Hazel. The warriors on guard at the gate mind-linked me about her arrival a little bit ago. Nick walks over and hugs her. “What took you so long?” Nick asks her as she walks over to me and Amy. She kneels down next to us and places her hand on Amy’s forehead. She finally looks up at me, “You must be Liam. It’s nice to finally meet you, Amy’s told us a lot about you.” I nod with a stoic face. It makes me feel a certain type of way that Amy’s talked about me so much. Like she really never forgot

about me.

She looks over at Nick, “It took me so long, because I needed to stop and grab a few things. I figured with no witch in the pack they wouldn’t have the things I would need.” Nick looks confused, “Things you would need? For what?” Hazel looks back at me, “We won’t be leaving the pack. The fight is coming to us and it’s time we ended this. We don’t have a choice anymore. Amy’s getting closer and closer to dying the longer we wait, we need to take care of her father, now.” I stare at her, dumbfounded. No matter how much I want this to end, I’m scared of the outcome. No one can die. Griffon’s right, Amy won’t be able to handle it. I’m not sure any of us can.

I nod my head and start telling her all about Amy’s theory and she nods and agrees throughout. “That all would make sense. I’ll call the coven and see if they would know how to break the connection.” She stands and walks out of the room. I watch her go, hoping like hell she can figure something out.

I look back down at Amy, “We’ll figure this out. I know we will.” I say running my fingers over her face. I look up and see Dallas and Nick staring at me. I look at their necks, and see neither has marked each other yet. I sigh, “Why haven’t you two marked each other yet?” Dallas gets nervous and starts scratching the back of his neck. ” We just…” Nick interrupts Dallas. “He’s scared, since you hate me that you’ll hate him once he marks me. And we both want to make sure Amy’s okay with it, since she currently hates me to.” I sigh looking down, “Look, I’m not happy that you put my family in danger, but you also did everything you could to protect them. Even Amy says she wouldn’t have survived without your and Hazel’s help. It’s not something I can look over, despite the poor decision on your part.” I sigh, “I may not know you well, but I do know Dallas deserves to be happy… We all do.” I look down at Amy. “If my approval is part of that, then I won’t stop you, and I won’t hate you.” I say, finishing by looking at Dallas.

Dallas smiles shyly, it doesn’t surprise me. None of us knew this about him. I’m not sure he even knew, because there was no reason to hide it. We all would have supported him. No one even batted an eye about the fact his mate was a man, granted it was pretty overshadowed by what happened right after. Nick looks over at Dallas and smiles, “I guess I just need to talk to Amy now. Thank you, Liam.” He says looking at me and I nod.
