Chapter 143

We stay up for hours, coming up with a plan. A plan to get the kids out and a plan for taking down my father. I’m trying so hard to stay awake, but I’m failing miserably. Liam keeps begging me to go to sleep, but I need to be apart of the plan. I can’t go into it half assed because I needed to sleep.

The kids went to sleep a few hours ago so John and Julia are down here with us. “I don’t like this plan; I need to be here with the pack when this takes place.” John says, talking to Liam. “Dad, I get it, but you and mom are the only ones we trust to keep them safe.” Liam explains to him.

Our group already got in a fight about this. I obviously can’t leave, which means Liam and Dallas won’t leave. Which means as Liam’s Beta Walker and Dallas’s mate Nick, they won’t leave. Which means Mia won’t leave. Hazel can’t leave, being our only witch which means Cole won’t leave as her mate. None of them are willing to sit aside while everyone else is in danger. So, in comes John and Julia, who don’t want to, but I think they’ll understand once we explain.

It takes a while, but finally everyone’s on board. The helicopter will be here in the morning to take John, Julia and the kids to a safe house far away. The rest of the plan is to be enacted when the time comes.

We finally have a second to breathe and I stop on the stairs looking up, really not having the energy to climb them. Before I can think of a solution Liam picks me up in his arms and starts carrying me upstairs. I look up at his face while he carries me up the stairs, and he looks down, catching me. He chuckles, “What? You need sleep, and we’ve figured out everything we can, so it’s time to sleep.” He says amused, and I just shake my head. “No, I was thinking about how much I missed this… Missed you.”

He puts me down on my feet right outside the kid’s room. “There wasn’t a day that went by that I didn’t miss you. Didn’t wait for you to come walking through the door or call me on the phone.” He places his head on mine, “Holding you was secondary. I would have been better had I just known you were safe. The second you walked through that door after so many years, even without having the nerves to pull you into my arms, I felt one thousand times lighter. Seeing you safe. Goddess. It was all I wished for.” I felt the tears starts falling down my cheeks, and he wipes them away with his thumb. “We’re going to get through this. And when we do, we’re going to be happy, finally happy, Amy. We’re going to make our family one again, and mate or not you’re going to be my Luna. We’re going to succeed and fail at parenting and life long happy lives. This isn’t the end for us, we haven’t even started.” Liam finishes, and I choke down a sob, but a second later his lips are on mine. Sweet and slow, like we have all the time in the world.

When he pulls away, he places one more gentle kiss on my lips then says, “Now, come on, lets spend tonight with our family.” He pushes off of me and opens the door for me to enter first. We lay down by our kids and Liam falls fast asleep.
