Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 145

Chapter 145

We all stand in the field, waving good-bye to the helicopter until it was completely out of view, per Heather’s request. Granted I don’t think I could have stopped anyway, I feel like two pieces of my heart just flew away.

I stand there clutching my heart, as Liam pulls me into his chest, kissing the top of my head. “They’ll be safe, and we’ll see them soon, Angel.” I nod, hoping like hell he’s right.

Hoping everybody here is still standing when all of this is over. I look over at Hazel, who has tears in her eyes, and she smiles knowingly at me. “They’ll be okay.” She whispers and I nod.

At least they won’t be in danger here.

“Okay, let’s get this connection broken. The sooner we get things done, the sooner this can all finally be over.” Hazel says and everybody nods.

We all stand in the living room of Liam’s house, while Hazel starts setting up around me.

Candles at each point of a star she has placed on the ground, ingredients set up around me, that I’m not even sure I want to know what they are. I saw bones at one point and started looking away.

She sets a mixture of something in front of me, “Please tell me I don’t have to drink that.” I ask and she grimaces. Great.

“Just one big chug, then it’ll be gone.” She jokes and I just stare at her, “It’s black.” I say dryly, and she tries to hold back a laugh. “Yeah, probably best you don’t ask what’s in it.” She says, and I look over at Liam, who’s looking at the concoction with disgust.

He sees me watching him and changes his face to a big fake smile. Like I’m a child he can placate into eating something disgusting. I roll my eyes at him.

I’m going to drink it no matter what, I have more than myself to think about here.

“Alright Amy, sit down. I’ve never done this spell before, but whatever happens stay in the center and breathe.” Hazel says and I just blink at her, “Comforting.” I mumble and she scrunchies her face up, “Sorry.” I roll my eyes, “Let’s get on with it. Will you tell me when it’s time to drink this?” I ask pointing to the concoction. “Or will I magically know?”

She laughs, “I’ll tell you.” She looks over at everybody else. “Walker, Cole, Nick, and Mia, you’re in charge of them.” She says pointing to Liam and Dallas. I look at her confused.

“It’s like I said, I haven’t done this spell before. I don’t know how you’re going to react and if something happens, I need them not to stop the process. It’s dangerous to interfere, so they might need to be held back.” Hazel explains.

Liam stands straighter, “You think this will hurt her? No, we’ll keep looking for something else. She’s already weak, she can’t afford to get hurt.” I sigh, “We don’t have time, Liam. I’ll be fine.” I promise him and he stares into my soul.

He knows I’m right. We’ve been running out of time for awhile now. We should have done this ages ago, if only we’d thought about it.

Hazel speaks up, “I understand Liam, but if this works, she could start getting better. The connection will be

broken, so she shouldn’t weaken anymore with her dad.”

Liam looks over at her then back at me. “But what if it doesn’t work?” Liam’s voice becoming firmer now.

I walk over to him and place a gentle kiss on his cheek. “It’s a chance we have to take. I’ll be fine. Now, go sit in the kitchen so you don’t have to watch.” I say with finality, and he blanches.

I walk over to the middle and sit down, and Liam mumbles under his breath about how he’s not leaving me. Then stands between Walker and Cole, seemingly knowing they’ll have to hold him back.

I give him a small smile and look up at Hazel. “Let’s do this.”

Hazel looks at me and nods, turning around to grab her book. She has Mia light all the candles, then starts speaking in some foreign language.

I don’t feel anything at first, but eventually I start to feel a tingling sensation in my stomach. I watch Hazel as she continues speaking and starts throwing something, that looks like water, at my face. I flinch, not expecting

it and scoff with a chuckle.

This feeling goes on for awhile, until she motions for me to drink the concoction. I grimace, but bring it to my lips, swallowing it in one go.
