Chapter 146
After throwing up black liquid for what feels like forever, I finally brush my teeth and walk out to the living room.
Liam hasn’t left my side since I entered the bathroom, but Dallas grabs my hand as soon as I exit. Pulling me and Liam next to him, so he can be close to me.
I lean my head on his shoulder and sigh. The pain in my stomach still there, but less. They walk me over to the couch, and I look for Hazel.
I see her standing over the desk, holding all of her books and ingredients as she searches for something.
She senses me looking at her and sighs heavily, then looks over at me. “I’m so sorry, Amy.” She whispers, and Dallas and Liam both tense next to me. I look at her confused, “For what?”
She closes her eyes, taking a deep breath. “It didn’t work.” She says, then turns back to her things.
It didn’t work.
It didn’t work! All of that! And it didn’t work? I go to stand but can’t find the strength to fully pick myself up.
“Damn it!!” Liam yells, standing next to me and helping me stay standing. I look up at him, but my vision feels shaky, and I have trouble keeping my eyes on him.
“This is exactly what I was worried about! She can barely focus!” He turns, glaring at Hazel. I lean my body into his, and I feel his body soften slightly. “It’s not her fault, Liam.” I tell him and he takes a deep breath. “We’ll figure it out, but first I really need some air.” I say to anyone who’s listening.
Liam takes me outside, and sits me in his lap, holding me in his arms as he kisses my head. “I’m so sorry, Amy.” I sigh, taking in his calming scent.
I suddenly bolt up and look at Liam with wide eyes. “You need to go back inside and call your parents. Make sure the kids are okay. If they felt any of that…” I let the rest of the conversation fall, not wanting to think about that.
His eyes widen slightly, and he nods. Picking me up off his lap and sitting me on the ground next to him. “My phone’s inside. Dallas will be out here in just a sec.” He says and I nod, my head falling forward, to rest in my
hands.
I hear the door click, and sigh, enjoying the moment of alone time, before we have to figure out what the problem was.
I hear footsteps, but before I can look to investigate, everything goes black.
When I come too, I’m in a dark room. My arms and legs tied to a chair. “About time.” Goddess, I’d recognize that annoying voice anywhere. “Clara.” I all but growl.
She bends down into my face, “Goddess, you’re so pathetic. Weak little human, who had to get herself pregnant to trap the Alpha. Don’t worry though. I’m fixing the problem.” She says and I just stare at her like she’s the stupidest person I’ve ever met. Because let’s be honest. She’s ridiculous, feeling the need to do this or even what she did in high school, just because she wanted Liam.
“Liam will get over losing you, but I guess I’ll have to deal with your little brats. Goddess, whatever, at least this way I won’t have to deal with giving him children.” She scoffs, while my blood boils at how she’s talking about

my kids. I already know everything she’s saying about Liam is stupid, I’m not worried about Liam wanting her.
I try to glare at her, but I start seeing two of her. That spell from earlier continuing to take its toll on my body. Fuck.
She chuckles and slaps me across the face. “Alright. Might as well get started. Your father gave me a job and I haven’t let him down yet, and this time I know he’ll keep up his end.”
This time? Keep up? Oh, hell no!
“You’re the mole? You’re the one working with my father?” I ask already knowing the answer. She smirks, “It all went perfectly, don’t you think? Sure, I might have bullied you, but how could little old me have been able to pull something this big off?”
