Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 168

Chapter 168

I go to stand again and start to walk away when he stops me again. “Griff.” I turn around, “Your mom is really excited about this ball. Just go along with everything.” He says sternly, looking at me like there will be major consequences if I hurt my mother’s feelings.

It feels strange to me that he feels the need to tell me that. Have I been hurting her feelings lately? I look at him confused. “I’m fine with going to the ball.” I tell him and he purses his lips.

He looks over me, then nods, motioning towards the door, giving me permission to leave.

I leave, take a shower, then lay down for a nap before the party.

I get to the party at Rebecca’s house. Some girl I’ve known since we were young. Just like everybody else in this pack. Nothing ever changes.

The same people. The same streets. The same houses. I’m going stir crazy.

“Griff!” I hear Lenny shout across the room and I head in his direction. He grabs me around the shoulders and pulls me into his side. “This is Gabby and Molly!” He shouts over the music, motioning to each of the girls.

I nod towards them and they both give me the wide smiles I’m used to, being a future Alpha.

I internally roll my eyes, having had met both of these girls before. They are here for college from other packs, but they’re still not new. Not to me.

“Wanna dance?” Molly asks, and I give her a half smile, before I see someone who actually does catch my eye. Sorry. Maybe later.”

“”

I push away from Lenny and head over to the girl. I stand behind her and watch as she takes a line of shots with a few of the other guys.

Once she’s done I fake a cough and she turns around quickly, her eyes wide. “Griffy.” She gasps, and I eye her sternly. “This is a college party, Aspen.” I say sternly and her lips purse as she looks around.

“Oh. Weird. I must’ve gotten lost.” She says and I roll my eyes. “You know your dad can still kick my ass. I can’t let you stay here.” I tell her and she throws her head back groaning.

“Come on, Griffy. Just for a little while!” She begs and I shake my head. “Come on.” I tell her, pulling her arm and making my way to the door. She follows rather grumpily.

“It’s really not that big of a deal.” She tells me as I open the passenger door to my car. I laugh, “You going to tell Walker then?” I ask. Even though I think we both know Mia’s the one to worry about.

Her eyes widen, “I was just having some fun.” She whines, as I sit down in my seat. I sigh, “What’s wrong with having fun with kids your own age?” I ask and her face scrunches like she’s tasted something sour.

“Kids my own age are stupid. I have a lot more fun with college boys.” She tells me and I take a deep breath.
