Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 169

Chapter 169

I sit on the chair in the living room reading. I come down here most nights to fall into my fantasy worlds without interruptions.

I started doing it when the kids were little, so if they came to my room Liam would have to help them, but now I think it’s just a habit.

I hear a car door slam shut and I glance up, looking out the window. I see Griffon’s car parked in front of Mia’s house and see Aspen running to the side of the house, sneaking back in.

I chuckle, doesn’t feel like super long ago when Mia was sneaking out to come to my house. In some respects, I miss those days, but in others I would never go back. I’ll just stay here, happy and healthy with my loving family.

I still miss my mom all the time, but I know she’s waiting for me. I know she’s watching over me, and I know she’s proud of the life I’ve made.

Griffon drives over to our house and comes inside. He starts to head up the stairs, “Griff.” I stop him and he jumps a little turning around. “Mom. You scared me.” He chuckles, then comes over to stand in front of my chair.

I tilt my head at him, “Aspen?” I ask, and he smirks. “You can’t tell Mia; Aspen will never trust me again.” He laughs, and I shake my head.

“Were you guys just hanging out?” I ask and he sighs loudly and falls onto the couch. “No. I found her at the party I went to. Grabbed her and was going to take her home, but I needed to get some food in her first.” He explains.

I smile. My thoughtful boy. I love when the old him shines through. He’s always grumpy and unhappy anymore, so it’s nice to see him like this.

I nod and look over at Mia’s house. “She’s okay?” I ask and he nods, then laughs. “Yeah. She’ll have one hell of a hangover tomorrow, but she’ll be fine.” He answers, and I smile.

Remembering the days we threw wild parties. Granted, I never partied with kids so much older than me, she’s only fifteen.

I look back at Griffon, “Why was she at a college party?”

Griff rolls his eyes and shakes his head like he’s disappointed, “She says kids her age are stupid. I guess a bunch of drunk college kids are more fun.” He sighs and looks out the window. “I tried to tell her how stupid it was, but I don’t know if she’ll listen.” He finishes, and I purse my lips. “Hopefully she does.” I whisper.

I know she won’t she’s always been a wild child. She wants to explore the world. See new things, experience new adventures. This is probably just her trying to get a whiff of that high.

Griffon nods, “We’ll see. I don’t need Walker trying to kick my ass for allowing his daughter to run wild.” He jokes.

“Please. Walker has no room to talk.” Liam laughs as he joins us in the room, looking at Griff. Griff laughs, “Oh yeah. You guys as wild as Aspen?” He asks, and Liam laughs. “No. No one’s as wild as Aspen, but still, we weren’t perfect.” Liam answers and I scoff.

Griff smiles as he looks over at me, “You agree?” I laugh, “Of course. They did things I wouldn’t have imagined doing.” I tell him and Liam laughs, “It’s not like you didn’t join eventually.” He teases and I shake my head. ” You guys were bad influences.” I deadpan and Griff laughs.

“Okay, I’m going to bed.” Griff announces and I nod, telling him goodnight and watching as he starts to walk up

the stairs.

I stop him, “Griff.” He turns around and looks at me. “You and Aspen?” I leave it open, not sure how I want to ask. His face scrunches, and he chuckles. “Mom, she’s fifteen.” He says and I nod, “Yes. She is. But she’s almost sixteen and sometimes girls like dating older.” I tell him and he shakes his head, “She’s like my cousin, it’d be like dating Randy and Finn.” He tells me and I nod. Accepting that answer for now.

He turns back towards the stairs and heads up them.

Liam looks over at me and smiles, “Aspen getting in trouble again?” I smile, “No, because we’re not allowed to know she snuck out. Griff is scared it’ll ruin their trust, and I don’t want to do that. Sometimes I swear Griff is the only one who can get through to that girl.” I tell him and he purses his and nods. “I suppose. Hopefully that won’t backfire.” He says and I shrug, “They’ll understand once I explain it, if they ever figure it out.” I tell him

and he nods.

He suddenly looks down at me and looks over my body. “You done for the night? I hear like older guys.” He asks, nodding towards the book, but still looking at me with lust filled eyes.

I smirk, “Hmmmm. I don’t know. I’m at a really good part.” I tease and his eyes darken as he gets on his knees

in front of me.
