One of Mia’s friends comes over practically laying on top of her, “Who knew the human knew how to have fun?” I think her name is Kiera. I look down as Dallas’s hand on my back squeezes me closer to him. Mia pushes her friend off so she’s standing on her own, “I knew.” She says smiling over at me. “But, I’m not as shortsighted as most.” Mia finishes glaring at Kiera, and Dallas chuckles. Kiera throws her hands up in a defensive position, Hey! No hate. It’s just nice to see you out. You always turn us down every time we tell Mia to invite you.” She’s not wrong, everybody at school has hated me for a while, so when they want to hang out with Mia and she wants to hang out with me, they invite me sometimes. I always say no, because I didn’t want their pity and to just sit in the back the whole night by myself. They only invite me to get Mia to come anyway, didn’t think they’d actually care. Mia finally stopped asking me, and just answers for me, because she knew I’d say no.

“Maybe we can hang out soon.” Is all I can think of to say, I just want to get back to dancing. To my surprise, Kiera smiles widely, “I’m going to hold you to that, Amy!” She shouts over the music. I smiles hesitantly, not really sure what to make of her, then turn back to Dallas. He’s eyeing me nervously but I smile up at him and start dancing again, not willing to let that ruin the night.

He allows me to push him around the dance floor, and I look over when I hear Walker and Cole laughing at him. So, I go and grab them both and pull them out here too. I dance with all of them, not sexy or anything. We’re just joking around dancing when Cole throws up the disco fingers over his eyes. Mia and I both laugh at him so hard, that I then realize how bad I have to use the bathroom.

I whisper to Mia that I have to use the bathroom, and head to the bathroom on the first floor. The line is so long, and I just know that I can’t wait, and race upstairs. I know Luna Julia has a bathroom in her room that she wouldn’t mind me using, but when I get to her room it’s locked. I grunt and race over to Liam’s room, I know he has a bathroom too. I’m to far gone to care about if he’ll care or not.

Once I’m done in the bathroom I start to head outside of the room, but before I make it out the door my arm is grabbed, and I’m pulled back against the wall. Before I have time to freak out, I can smell Liam’s scent, it calms. me down knowing it’s him. It’s the same scent he’s had since he was a kid, I’ve always found comfort in it, even back then though I’m not really sure why. He doesn’t speak at first, he just holds me there, all I can hear is heavy breathing coming from both of us. He starts to pull Dallas’s coat off my arms and I’m too shocked to move.” Liam? What are you doing?” I whisper, out of breath. He’s throws Dallas’s coat onto the floor and starts putting a hoodie over my head.

I can’t see the color with how dark the room is, but I can smell Liam’s scent even more now. This must be his hoodie. What is his problem? I can feel my cheeks heat up, as I feel his eyes digging into me. I don’t feel like this is fair since he has super eyesight and can actually see me. “If you’re cold you can wear my hoodie. Stop leading Dallas on.” He says expressionlessly. Leading him on? Dallas is the one who keeps coming to me. How am I leading him on? “What the fuck, Liam?” I ask as I try and push him off of me, but he doesn’t budge. He holds me tighter and reaches one hand up to my face and caresses my face in his hand, I lean into his hand. Forgoing any common sense I possess. The heat from his hand is so overwhelming, I forget about everything else around me.

I slightly hear the sound of his door opening, and he backs off of me quickly. Then I hear it, my literal worst nightmare. “What the fuck are you doing in here? With her?” Clara screeches. Fuck. I’m dead, regardless of this not being my fault. Clara gets to me so fast and slaps me hard to the ground. Liam growls and throws her away from me. I can feel the tears forming in my eyes as I take in the force of the hit. I make my exit as quickly as I can, not waiting for Clara to get her bearings.

Liam chases after me and grabs my arm right before we reach the stairs. “Liam! Let me go!” I shout as I turn

around trying to get him off of me. He seems to listen, loosening his grip, but is looking past me on the stairs. When I turn around, I see Dallas at the bottom of the stairs fire brimming his kind eyes. Liam lets me go, and I run down the stairs past Dallas and out of the door, running to my house.

I knew better than going to this stupid party. I hadn’t run into the she devils the whole time, I let my guard down.
