Chapter 175

I do a much better job at keeping a straight face than Dallas does. He’s not going to let this go, and that makes me feel bad. As far as we know she’s a perfectly lovely girl. She doesn’t deserve for us to be on guard around her before she’s done anything wrong.

I don’t want her thinking we dislike her because she was a rogue, because honestly that couldn’t be further from

the truth.

I mean I was practically a rogue when I ran away. If I were able to let my wolf out, I would have been considered

one.

‘Stop it!’ I mind-link Dallas, who’s currently eyeing Nadia as she and Griffon walk over to us. ‘I can’t help it. Now I feel like something’s up too. My wolf won’t let me back down. Not if it could mean you getting hurt again.’ Dallas tells me and I sigh into his head.

‘Okay. Then you need to leave. Go check on Aspen with Mia. I’ll be fine. Not saying she would but it’s not like she’s going to try and attack me here. Plus, Liam, Walker and Cole are all still here. I don’t want my son thinking we hate his mate before there’s even a reason too.’ I say sternly.

He looks at me like I’m trying to kill him, then grunts, stalking away and walking over to where Mia is trying to talk to Aspen.

I look up at Liam and he looks down at me confused. ‘I’ll explain later.’ I tell him, just as Nadia and Griffon come

to stand in front of us.

Griffon’s smile is wide and beautiful as he looks at me then over at his mate. “Mom, dad, this is Nadia. Nadia, this is my parents, Amy and Liam.” He introduces us and I smile warming at Nadia.

She gives me a small smile, then looks up at Liam widely. “Nice to meet you both.” Nadia says looking at Liam again. My protective instincts to guard my mate kick in, but I try my hardest to hold them back. She’s just happy to meet her mate’s father.

‘Try saying that again with some conviction.’ Leah says to me and I almost growl at her to shut her up. The last thing I need is her making my senses heighten even more.

“Nice to meet you too. Let’s sit, get to know each other a bit better.” I say kindly, motioning to the table closest to us. We all make our way to the table and Nadia sits in between Liam and Griffon. My teeth clench, but I relax when Liam moves his chair closer to me and wraps his arm around my waist pulling me closer to him.

“Having a mate is serious, son. You have to protect and care for her the rest of your lives. Are you ready for that?” Liam asks, eyeing Griffon closely.

Griffon smiles and looks down at Nadia. “More than ready. But we’re going to take things slow get to know each other before we move forward with the process.” Griffon explains.

I feel like a weight lifts off my chest when he tells us that. Liam nods, “Good. Don’t wait too long though.” He looks down at me, “I can’t even explain how much I wish we didn’t have to go through what we did to be together. How much more time we could have had.” He says sweetly still looking into my eyes.

I smile warmly at him, “We still have time to make up for it, and even after.” I tell him, wanting nothing more than to pull him in for a kiss. He smiles, then we hear a cough to the side.

Nadia pulls her hand down that was covering the cough and smiles over at us. “It’s so sweet how much you guys love each other. I hope Griff and I can get to that point soon.” She coos, grabbing Griffon’s arm and looking at him sweetly.

Liam chuckles, “Me too. Though it took us awhile, I knew I loved her since I was a child. Hopefully, it doesn’t take you two that long to figure it out.” Liam says and I just look at him as he starts reminiscing about moments in our childhood that he knew he loved me.

I’ve heard the stories several times, but I still love hearing him tell them any chance he can.

Even though I don’t need a reminder that he loves me, because he shows me everyday, it’s still nice to have him tell others how much he loves me.

Griffon chuckles half-way through the third story. “Alright, dad. Let’s not set the bar too high before I even have a chance here.” Griff jokes, and Liam smiles, squeezing me tighter. “I’m not worried about that one bit, kid.” Liam tells him and I swear I see a little red coat Griffon’s cheeks.

Heather rushes over with Micah and takes two of the empty chairs at the table. “Oh gosh. Is dad telling his love stories again?” Heather jokes rolling her eyes at Liam.

Liam chuckles, and Heather shakes her head. “He did the same thing to us.” She holds out her hand to Nadia,” Hi! I’m Heather. Griffon’s sister and this is my mate, Micah.” She says motioning to Micah and Nadia tentatively shakes her hand. “Nice to meet you.” She smiles. Heather sits down to join the conversation and just starts talking up a storm, trying to get to know Nadia a bit better.

“So, where are you from? Like before you came to Renolds pack.” Heather asks and Nadia clams up, and Griffon glares at his sister. “That’s not your concern.” He snaps and I look at him confused.
