I look at him lovingly and he closes his eyes, “I love you, Liam. I can’t wait to spend the next few days together and we’ll have to get better at not letting our lives separate us as much. And I promise, Dallas will be no where near us for like two days so that’s a plus, right?” I end with a joke and I hear Dallas growl behind me.

Then I hear Dallas grunt, and Nick chuckle. “I swear if Dallas wasn’t gay, I’d be concerned.” Nick jokes and Liam takes a deep breath.

“Maybe that’s the problem, because I was around at a time where Dallas was very much not gay.” Liam says glaring back up at Dallas.

“Yeah, and you were also around when Dallas finally got his long-awaited mate. What’s wrong with you?” Dallas asks sternly and I look back, seeing just how angry Dallas was getting at Liam’s jealousy.

“Guys.” I start, trying to de-escalate the situation, but Liam cuts me off. “Probably the fact that you constantly need to be on top of my mate and always wanting her attention.” Liam growls as he tries to pull me behind him.

I pull myself back in front of him to stop whatever the hell is going on, and Liam doesn’t fight me, but I can tell he wants me to move.

“I’m her Gamma! I’m supposed to be around her. To protect her! And I’m sure it makes it easier on her that we’re such good friends. Or did you forget if it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t have even talked to her. Fuck, she’d probably be dead if I didn’t make you get the fuck over yourself. Where the fuck is all this coming from?” Dallas says yelling.

I look around and see a few people glancing our way. ‘Walker. I think I might need you.’ I mind-link Walker. Hoping he can help fix whatever is happening. ‘Coming.’

Liam’s growl is no longer a soft warning when he releases his next one, and Liam pushes me to the side, stepping closer to Dallas. “And where were you when she almost died? How were you protecting her when she was taken or when her dad came?” Liam yells back, and I glance over at Nick who looks just as confused as me.

“I was in the same place as you! You could have waited until I got outside and to her before you made your phone call! And I was where I was instructed to be when her dad came! Just like you!” Dallas fumes and Liam’s in his

face a second later.

Fist flying and both of them falling to the ground. Walker’s there in an instant. Grabbing Liam and throwing him off Dallas as Nick grabs hold of Dallas and holds him from advancing on Liam.

I just stand there in shock. What the hell is happening? And why are they bringing up things that happened over fifteen years ago. We’ve all long moved passed all of this.

“How dare you blame me for what happened!” Liam shouts at Dallas, still trying to break Walker’s hold, but luckily Cole’s come in to help hold him back too. “You blamed me!” Dallas shouts back.

I feel Hazel and Mia slowly walk to either side of me and both grab my hands. “Let’s go. I think everyone needs to calm down.” Mia says as she starts to pull me towards my car.

Liam glances over me, and I see a look of confusion cross his face. Then he glares back at Dallas as Mia throws me into the passenger seat.
