Chapter 194
My head spins as I take a step away from Lenny. “You know me. I don’t understand where this is coming from.” I tell him, looking at him like he just killed my cat.
His face is full of pity, “Just go worry about your mate. Maybe once everything calms down, everything will get better.” He whispers to me, and I shake my head, and look over his shoulder at Aspen.
“I know you’re upset about me finding my mate, but you’re really going to turn everyone against me?” I snap at her and her eyes widen, and she pushes Lenny out of in front of her.
She steps closer to me, and places one finger on my chest. “You.” Poke. “Are.” Poke. “The one.” Poke. “Doing this.” She drops her hand and glares at me. “Don’t blame me, because you can’t figure out the shit with your mate.” She says sternly.
My eyes narrow on her yet again, but nothing comes out. I can’t seem to get my thoughts together enough to speak. I had no idea everyone felt this way. But do they or is Aspen putting shit into their heads. They’ve all known each other forever, so if she wanted them believe Nadia was bad, she could make them believe it. Meaning Nadia won’t stand a chance here unless I kill this mind process now.
I step forward again to be right in front of her. Her head bends as she looks up at me, but she doesn’t back down. I don’t expect her to.
“You’ll stop this nonsense and give Nadia a chance, Aspen.” I tell her sternly and she shakes her head. “I’m not, not giving her a chance.” She tells me glaring at me. I shake my head, “Yes, you are. You’re turning everyone against her.” I tell her and her mouth slacks open in shock.
“I’m not doing anything!” She yells and I shake my head. “You will respect your future Luna, and Alpha!” I shout at her and her mouth snaps shut.
She looks up at me, her eyes glistening, but still narrowed. Finn gasps and pulls Aspen back a step from me and
closer to him.
His eyes wide as he grips Aspen’s arm. “Did you… Did you just Alpha command her?” He asks in absolute shock.
I don’t let the shock show on my face as I look at Aspen and she just glares at me. It’s something my dad was talking to me about. But I didn’t mean to do it. I’d never do it unless necessary.
But wasn’t this necessary? I’m helping the future Luna.
My jaw ticks as I look between all my friends, then I turn to leave. I don’t even no where to go from here. Better to leave before it gets worse.
I take a step to leave, “Be careful, Griffy.” Aspen whispers, using the nickname she gave me when she was young, something I haven’t heard since Nadia showed up.
It nearly breaks me, but then I see Nadia looking over at me and I stand strong. I can’t take back what I’ve already done.
I close my eyes then open them focusing on Nadia and walking away.
I’m sure my parents will hear about this before I even get home, and they’ll have something to say about it. Might even take it away from Aspen. Ensuring she has free will again.

It won’t make me mad; I’m already regretting my decision. Even though I didn’t realize I was doing it, I still shouldn’t have done it or at least had the respect for Aspen enough to try and take it away myself. Regardless of how little respect she was showing me.
She’s never been big on showing me respect though. It’s one of the issues with us growing up together, but from what I hear her mother wasn’t great at respecting my father either. Maybe it runs in the family.
“Is everything okay?” Nadia asks, as I step closer to her. She gets off the bench and walks over to me, placing her hand on my chest and looking over my shoulder at my friends.
I ignore her question, “What are you doing?” I ask her and her jaw clenches before a smile crosses her face. “I just wanted to get to know the Matthews.” She tells me and I glance over at the couple. They both look nervous and unsure of something, and I tilt my head. “Hey, Mr. And Mrs. Matthews.” I say to them with a small wave.
They both give me a small wave and stand up, “We should get going. Good to see you, Alpha.” Mr. Matthews says, and I nod, though eye them with suspicion, before turning my suspicion onto Nadia.
“Everything, okay?” I ask her and she nods with a giant smile on her face. “Yeah. I was just talking to them about reaching out more to the pack, but I’m not sure if they are going to go for it.” She tells me and I nod.
“Yeah. My mom’s tried that too. They’re pretty ashamed of what their daughter did, and don’t want to cause more problems. They think they’re helping the pack by staying to themselves.” I explain and Nadia nods. “Yeah. Maybe I should start smaller.” She tells me.
