“He did what?” I whisper as Mia stands in the middle of the room looking between Liam and me. She looks at me with pity and says it again. “He Alpha commanded her.” She repeats and my eyes move to Walker like I need confirmation.

I look over at Liam after Walker confirms it, and he looks at me worried before turning to look back at our friends. “She told you this?” They both shake their heads. “Finn and Randy told Cole, and he told us, and though Aspen wouldn’t confirm it, she’s really upset. I know something happened.” Mia explains, and my eyes close.

How could he do this? He knows we don’t Alpha command people unless it’s necessary. “We’ll talk to him. And if he won’t fix it, I will.” Liam tells them and they both nod.

“Why?” I ask them and Mia looks at me confused, but Walker understands. “He said she needed to respect his future Alpha and Luna.” Walker explains.

While that is true, Aspen and Griffon have always pushed the limits when it comes to that. It’s not new for Aspen to talk when she shouldn’t and he’s never done anything like this before. He usually just goes head-to- head with her until it’s settled.

“She’s still not taking to Nadia?” I ask Mia and she shakes her head. “I think it’s more than that, but she isn’t talking to me about it.” She explains.

I nod my head slowly and finally look back at them, “I’m sorry.” I tell them and Mia shakes her head. “That’s not why we’re here.” She tells me and I look at her confused. She sighs and comes to sit in front of my desk.

“He’s acting so strange, Amy. And I know you see it. Something is wrong with him.” She pauses and looks over at Liam. “Maybe not the same thing, but I’m worried it’s similar. Finn and Randy said that Lenny had to stand between him and Aspen for fear he might hurt her. Something is going on around here, and we have to figure it out, before everything comes crashing down.” She tells me, worry written all over her face.

“He has a ring.” I tell her and she nods. “I know, but still.” She says, not being able to explain that.

“What are you thinking?” I ask and she shrugs. “I think we need to do a deep dive. Have Hazel rummage through her mind. I don’t know, anything. We need to find out more about this girl. She’s living under your roof. Right next door to you. If she is the one trying to hurt you, we’re giving her access to do just that. We need to find out more.” She finishes and I just look at her.

She’s right and I know it. We all know it. But I don’t think the mind rummaging is an actual possibility. Hazel would have mentioned it, unless it was dangerous and if that’s the case I don’t think I’m willing to risk it in the case Nadia isn’t the one doing these things.

I nod, “Okay. But let’s start a little smaller.” I tell her a glint in my eye as I think about our next move.

Twenty minutes later, after we have eyes on her and Griffon, we begin.

“This might be too far.” Liam whispers while we stand outside Nadia’s door. I purse my lips. “Do you really think she’d just come out and tell us if we asked her about her past?” I ask him and he shrugs, “Maybe. We could try.” He whispers, like we’re on some spy mission.

Which we kind of are, but we’re the only people in the house right now.

I shake my head, “It wouldn’t be the truth.” I tell him and he sighs. Dallas chuckles, “I’m all for it.” Dallas jokes

and Liam rolls his eyes. “Of course you are.” He looks down at me, “What makes you think she’d lie?” He asks, and I take a deep breath and place my hand on his chest.

“It’s just a feeling I have about her, Liam. Please, just trust me. If we don’t find anything, then we’ll look some place else, okay?” I promise him. He raises his hand to place it over mine. “Okay, Angel. Whatever you need.”

I nod, then look at Mia, giving her a ‘I’m ready’ nod and she nods back and turns to the door.

She slowly opens the door and Hazel, Mia, Dallas and I all walk in slowly, while Liam guards the door. We figured the more people we had, the faster we could look.

“Make sure to put everything exactly where you left it.” I tell everyone before we spread out and start exploring.

She must have brought everything she owns from the other pack, planning on staying here. If she’s not crazy, that spells good news for Griffon, hopefully.
