Chapter 196
Why would she have my necklace? Better yet, how does she have my necklace? We lost it after the fight with my dad, never to be seen again, until now.
“Guys! You have to get out of there!” Liam whisper yells through the door. We all look between each other.
“Do we take it?” Dallas asks quietly and grimace. If we take it, she’ll know someone was in here. If we don’t, who knows what she has planned for it.
“We’re taking it.” Hazel says absolutely, leaving no room for argument. I nod and we all rush to leave the room.
We all make it into the room, shutting the door as soon as we hear the front door opening and Cole’s booming voice entering the house.
He must have stopped to talk to them, trying to distract them.
Liam looks at the container, “What is it?” He asks and Hazel looks at him worried, before handing it over.
Liam takes it from her hands, and his eyes widen as soon as he opens it, looking over at me. “Are we sure?” He asks, and I shrug. “Could she have gotten a similar one anywhere else?” Dallas asks, and I shrug again, before finally going to stand beside Liam to inspect it more closely.
The pendant is the exact same and… My eyes pause on the chain and pick it up to get a closer look at it. Cole, Nick and Walker all choose that moment to come inside our room, nearly making me drop the necklace in fear that we’re about to be caught.
I roll my eyes at them as they shut the door behind them and come closer. “Find anything?” Cole whispers, regardless of this being one of the two soundproof rooms in the house.
We all nod and I hold the necklace out for them to see. Nick gasps and grabs the necklace. Pulling the chain closer to his face and then looking at me. “It has the teeth marks.” He says and I nod. “I know. And you can tell where it was broken. All three times.” I tell him and he nods agreeing.
Liam grabs the necklace and looks at the chain. “Teeth?” He asks and Nick and I stare at each other. “Yeah. After the bar, when Nick and I had to run. He put it back together with his teeth.” I tell him and he nods, then his face turns grim.
“The first bar?” He asks, and I give him a quick nod, hoping to move passed it. I don’t like thinking of much of my time when I was away from them, but that night was one of the worse ones.
A low growl leaves Liam’s throat, and he pulls me closer to him, clearly remembering what happened that night as well.
I place my hand on his arm and let him hold me close, knowing he just needs to feel that I’m here.
“So, we’re saying this is for sure yours?” Mia asks, and I look at the necklace again, before turning towards her and nodding.
I look at Hazel, “What could she do with it?” I ask her and she grimaces. “That’s why we had to take it. There’s a lot of things she could have done with it. She also might have just used it, to hide.” She says, and I curse myself for not looking at her neck when she came into the house early that one morning.

Was she using it to hide from Griffon then? Why would she need it?
“But how would she have gotten it?” Cole asks and I look around, “I don’t know.” I tell them.
“This still doesn’t prove that she’s guilty. Creepy yes, but guilty? We need more. If anything, we need to find the witch she’s working with.” Hazel explains and I take a deep breath.
She’s right, it doesn’t prove she wants me dead, but I’d say it does prove there’s something strange going on.
I lean my head back on Liam’s chest and look up at him, as his grip on me stays firm and he looks at the necklace like it’s personally offending him.
He looks down at me and grabs my cheek with his free hand, “I believe it. I’m sorry I doubted you.” He whispers to me, and I shake my head. “I didn’t want our son’s mate to be the problem either… Maybe she’s not. Maybe this is just a coincidence. Maybe she just found it or something.” I tell him and Dallas scoffs, while I try like hell to believe it myself.
Even if she’s not the one that wants to kill me, I still feel like something’s up with her. “She was rogue. Maybe she ran into Clara and Clara gave it to her. Maybe Clara took it in the first place. We’ve never been able to find her. If she’s had this necklace, that would explain why.” I suggest to the room and everyone considers that.
