Chapter 206
I wake up laying between Liam and Dallas, just like I always did with all my panic attacks before. Goddess, I haven’t had a panic attack in such a long time.
I must have passed out and they brought me in here to calm me down. Liam’s arm is wrapped around my body pulling and keeping me against his chest, while I feel Dallas’s hand on my shoulder.
I close my eyes and listen to their shallow breathing and soft snores. They’re sleeping. I smile into Liam’s chest, happy to finally be sleeping with my mate. Regardless of what brought us here.
Liam and Dallas both sit up in bed suddenly, their eyes clashing and worry straining their expressions.
Liam looks down at me a grim look on his face. “The Matthews are missing.” He informs me and my eyes widen.
They both start to get out of the bed and Liam looks back at Dallas. “You need to stay here with Amy.” He tells him and I shake my head. “No. I’m going.”
I’ve been trying to acclimate them into the pack ever since we took it over. They didn’t do anything wrong other than raise a shitty daughter. “I want to help.” I tell him and he closes his eyes and shakes his head.
Pulling me off the bed so I’m attached to his chest and looking down at me with caring eyes. “Angel, there’s blood. I don’t… I don’t want it to bring anything back. I don’t want you more stressed.” He says kindly, only caring about my wellbeing.
I give him a small smile and put my hand on his cheek. “I appreciate it, but I’m coming.” I tell him, pulling my hand away and turning in his arms to find my shoes.
Dallas chuckles and Liam lets out a frustrated groan, knowing he can’t stop me, short of tying me to the bed to keep me here. I need to see for myself.
We were just talking about Clara and now her parents are missing. I find it hard to believe that’s a coincidence.
We rush to the Matthews house and meet Cole and Walker there. “What’s it looking like.” Liam asks them as we walk up.
Walker shakes his head and glances over at me before answering. “I… um… I’m not sure. It’s like…” He glances at me again. “Just say it!” I order him, getting tired of them thinking I can’t handle it.
He nods and looks back at Liam, “It looks like they exploded.” He answers and my stride slows a step. Dallas grabs my shoulders before he runs into me from behind and pulls me into his chest. “You okay?” He whispers into my ear, as the rest of them continue their stride to the house.
Liam glances back at me as if telling me to stay outside, sensing my hesitation.
Exploded. Like they exploded. What could do something like that short of an explosion. It sounds like… Magic.
“I’m fine.” I tell Dallas and start walking up to the house with determination. Needing to investigate this for myself. See if my feelings are accurate.
I walk into the house and follow the scent of blood until I walk into what was probably their bedroom, where Liam, Cole and Walker are already standing.

Liam looks over at me, I see the flash of concern cross his face before he covers it with his Alpha face. Getting down to business, now that he knows just how serious this is.
I look around the room. Other than the bed being tousled from sleep there’s nothing out of the place. Everything is in pristine condition besides the splatters of blood that reach all the way to the floor where I stopped walking.
Blood everywhere, reminding me of when we found Mia, but not the same. Mia’s blood was coating the bed and splattered here and there, but this… It looks like someone just misted their blood into the air, leaving it everywhere.
I put the picture of Mia laying in her bed coated in her blood to the back of my mind, trying not to think about that day. Not wanting to stress about something that has long passed just like Liam was worried about.
