Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 22

Chapter 22

I get out to the cars after school, and see Dallas sitting on the hood of his car and Cole standing in front of him, talking. Once they notice me, Dallas looks behind me like I’m hiding something. “What are you looking for?” I ask smiling. Dallas then looks at my face and smiles, “Just waiting for Amy.” He says, again glancing over my shoulder. “Don’t you have last period with her?” I ask Cole and he nods. “Yeah, but she ran to her locker. I figured she’d meet us out here.” He answers with a shrug.

I look back at the school, it’s nearly empty by now. I had to stay back for a few minutes to talk to one of my teachers. “Have you asked Mia? Maybe she decided to walk home.” I say looking back at Dallas. “Maybe… I don’t know something feels off. I’ll call Mia.” He says, sticking his hand out to Cole for his phone. I look at him questioningly, he shrugs, “Lost my phone.” Ah, yes, he told me that, not long after lunch.

Cole and I just stand there waiting. “Fucking Mia.” Dallas curses when she doesn’t answer, then starts calling someone else. Cole looks up at me, “Walker gave Mia a ride home.” He explains, telling me who he’s calling now. “You guys know if Amy walked home?” He asks Walker, who takes a minute to respond. Lucky for werewolf hearing I can hear both sides of the conversation. “No, Mia says she thought you were giving her a ride home.” ” I was going to, but we haven’t seen her yet.” Dallas responds, and my good mood starts to decline. How do none of us know where she is? She would have told Mia if she planned to ditch us and walk home. Right?

I turn on my heels and start heading back inside the school. “Where are you going?” Cole shouts, I don’t bother turning around when I answer, “Just going to make sure she’s not in the school before we head to her house to make sure she isn’t home.” I hear them both start to follow me, as I pull my phone out of my pocket to call her, because Dallas is right, something feels off.

“Dam it!” I yell, sliding my phone back into my pocket after calling her for the tenth time. Dallas looks nervous next to me. “She’s not responding to my text or calls either.” He tells me, as we reach the second story of the building, checking her art classroom. “Hopefully she’s at home, and we’re just worried about nothing.” Dallas says. I look at him and we both share a look, knowing that’s unlikely.

We look at all her classrooms, thinking maybe she stopped to talk to a teacher, but we get no where. “Come on guys, maybe it’s time to go home and check there.” Cole says. I stop in the middle of the hallway grimacing, still looking around, like she’s just going to pop up. Then I look at Dallas that seems to feel the same way I do, that she’s still here. Though we’ve checked everywhere we can think of. I sigh and nod, agreeing.

A quick five minute drive and we’re standing on Amy’s front porch. If she had walked home, she’d be here by now, with how much time we spent looking for her at school. I raise my hand to knock, when it opens. My hope slowly dies when I see Heather there, looking at us questioningly. “Has Amy come home yet?” I ask her quickly, peering around her in hopes that I see her. Heather shakes her head, “Um… No I don’t believe so. You can go check, but I haven’t heard her.” Heather answers and my mind starts racing as I rush past her and head up the

stairs.
