Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 23

Chapter 23

I knock and enter her room, but Heather was right she’s not here. Fuck. Where is she? I get downstairs and I shake my head no to Dallas who was looking hopeful. Heather’s mom notices and asks, “What’s going on?” I look at Cole and Dallas and then back at Heather. I don’t want to answer. “We can’t find her.” Heather’s eyes go wide, “What do you mean?” “She was suppose to ride home with Dallas, but she never came. So, we checked the school and didn’t find her, so we came here.” I tell her, letting her finish the rest. My minds going too crazy right now.

Heather seems to think about it, “Okay, let’s head over to your house. Maybe she went over there early.” We all know that’s not the case, but we decide that we’re running low on options.

We get to my house and run inside. We run into my mom in the kitchen trying to get things situated for the dinner. “Has Amy been over here?” I ask, and she looks up at me worried. Her worry doubles when she sees Heather with us. “No. She wasn’t suppose to be here til six.” My mom answers, the question forming in her eyes.

I look back at Dallas, he looks like he’s running through his entire memory, thinking of places she could be. ” Dallas?” I ask him, not really even sure what I’m asking. He looks up at me with pleading eyes, “I don’t know. I don’t know where she would have gone. We checked everywhere I would have thought to check. The only place I can think of is the movies, and I highly doubt she went there without Mia.”

Just then Walker and Mia walk in. “Have you found her?” Mia asks quickly and Cole shakes his head answering her. “Can you think of anywhere other than school, mine, yours or her house she might go?” I ask her and she seems to think about it, but comes up empty. Amy doesn’t go anywhere other than those places! I close my eyes and look up.

When I control myself I look around, Dallas is talking to Mia. My mom and Heather are talking, and Cole and Walker are shifting on their feet, getting into protective mode. “Okay, maybe we’re overreacting.” My mom starts, “She still has about thirty minutes until six, maybe we wait and see if she shows up.” I hate this plan, a lot can happen in thirty minutes.

That gets everyone talking at once, trying to figure out if that really is the best plan. Everyone’s so focused on what the plan is that I didn’t even realize when Mia left. I look over at Walker, “Where’d Mia go?” Walker looks down, confused and shrugs. I walk to the front window and don’t see her car. “Did you give her a ride?” Walker shakes his head no.

Everyone is focused on me now, trying to figure out where Mia went. When Heather gets a call. “Mia?” Heather asks, and I hear Mia burst into tears, and my heart sinks. “Calm down Mia. What’s going on?” Heather tries to calm her. “It’s really bad, Heather. She can’t answer my questions, and she’s in so much pain. I’m driving her to the hospital.” Mia chokes out between sobs. Heather already heading for the door.

All of us right on her heels, jumping into Walker’s suv and racing to the hospital. What the hell happened to her?
