Chapter 223

Liam carries me into our house after I spend one more night in the hospital.

I wish I could say that Griffon showed up, but he didn’t.

Micah opens the door for Liam, and I smile at him gratefully as we pass.

He’s been so helpful and so sweet while I was in the hospital. I just love seeing my daughter has found someone that takes care of her the way he does.

Liam carries me up the stairs and up into our room, sitting me on the bed then backing away looking at me.

“What do you need, Angel?” He asks, and I purse my lips. Already knowing what he’s going to say to my request.

His eyes narrow as he looks at me suspiciously, “What?” He grumbles and I smile. “I’d like the laptop from the panic room.” I tell him and he takes a deep breath and starts shaking his head.

“You’re supposed to be resting.” He deadpans and I give him with an innocent look. “I will be. It’ll be like I’m in bed watching tv.” I tell him fluttering my eyelashes.

He sighs deeply and closes his eyes, looking down at the floor and shaking his head. “Angel. I don’t want you to stress about that right now.” He says, sitting down on the side of the bed and grabbing my hand.

He looks over my hand, studying it like it might give him all the answers and I lean forward taking my hand and placing it on his cheek. “Liam. We don’t have time to worry about not stressing or healing, or anything. We need to figure this out and the only way we can do that is if everybody is working on it.” I tell him and he sighs, nodding his head and standing up to leave the room.

“Oh! I need my notebook too!” I shout at him as he heads for the door, and he shakes his head. “No. You’re not going to worry about the funerals right now. You’re right. We need to focus on finding this other witch and protecting the pack. We’ll deal with the funerals after everything is solved.” He tells me sternly.

I tilt my head and look at him sadly, “Liam, it’s important.” I tell him and he closes his eyes shaking his head. ” Not as important as this.” He whispers and I swallow. “Liam.” I start, but he looks up at me with pleading eyes, Please. Just this once, listen to me. I want this settled. You mean more to me than putting empty coffins to rest. I need you safe, Amy. I need you breathing. That’s all I care about right now.” He says looking at me with so much love I can’t say no.

I nod, “Okay.” I whisper, believing every word he says. He takes a deep breath, and looks up at me like he’s surprised, then gives a curt nod before walking out of the room.

Dallas enters as soon as he exits, with a bowl of popcorn in one hand and two bottles of water in the other. He gives me a small smile, “Guess movie night it is.” He shrugs and jumps into the bed next to me.

I scoff out a laugh and roll my eyes at him. “How’d you know he’d say yes?” I ask him and he looks at me like I’m stupid. “He’s never been able to say no.” He deadpans and I look over at the door, thinking about how that isn’t true. He can say no when it means protecting me.

Liam comes in five minutes later rolling his eyes at Dallas and coming over to sit on the other side of me. He hands me the laptop begrudgingly and lays back on his pillow.

“Cole said it’s password protected. I don’t know if we’ll even be able to get into it.” He tells me and I purse my

lips, but Dallas just grabs it from me and starts punching things into the keys.

The screen brightens and he hands it over to me with a triumphant grin. I scrunch my eyes at him, and he shrugs, “You don’t know everything about me, Aims.”

I smile shaking my head, then taking the laptop from him and staring at the Home Screen.

It’s not long before I find the app that opens all the cameras in the house and Liam sits up straight and glares at
