Chapter 226
Amy’s face falls into her hands and I nod my head towards the door, silently telling everybody else to get out.
This isn’t her fault, it’s the witch’s fault.
I grab Amy’s face and force her to look at me. “Stop. Even if we saved the Matthews, she just would have gone for someone else. We have no idea what the Matthews had to tell us.” I whisper to her, trying to tell her how
much I believe that.
She shakes her head, “Liam, we’re failing. We’re failing this pack. We’re failing our friends. We’re failing our kids… We failed your parents… What are we supposed to do?” Her tears start to leak from her eyes as she decides to finally let down her guard and let herself feel the pain of all this.
A stab of pain shoots through my heart at the mention of my parents. I don’t think I’ve fully let myself believe that they’re really gone. I haven’t had time to sit down and think about it. I have too much to worry about.
She doesn’t wait for me to respond and looks up into my eyes. “Nadia’s involved in this. We saw her going down to the panic room several times. How do we tell Griffon?” She begs for me to have all the answers, and I absolutely hate that I don’t. That I can’t make this any easier for her. I can’t make this witch go away, because I don’t know anything about this witch. As far as I know this witch hasn’t done anything to us.
I don’t know how to save Griffon from this, but I do know I can take care of Nadia. Bring my mate a small amount of relief knowing she can’t hurt our son anymore than she might have already.
‘Get Kale and Novak. We’re making an arrest.’ I mind-link Walker. ‘Yes, Alpha.’ He responds instantly, and I know he’s already on it.
I can’t kill Nadia. Not yet, though every ounce of my blood is begging me to. I can’t do that to Griffon.
I stand up, the door opening behind me as Dallas walks in. A knowing look on his face as he finally agrees with something I plan to do.
“I’ll take care of her.” Dallas whispers walking closer to Amy and Amy looking up at us confused. “What’s going on?” She asks, and I grab her cheek and look into her eyes. “We’re dealing with Nadia.” I tell her and the firm look she gives me tells me she’s completely on board.
We love Griffon, but if he hates us for this it’s something we will live with in order to keep him safe.
I start to head out of the office after giving Amy a kiss and see Heather walking in wide eyed as she looks at her red eyed, upset mother. “What’s going on?” She asks, and Micah walks in behind her. His Alpha senses already telling him that we’re about to do something serious.
Heather walks to the other side of Amy and wraps an arm around her shoulders as Amy tries her hardest to straighten her spine and appear strong for her daughter.
She looks over at Heather, “They’re arresting Nadia.” She whispers as she grabs Heather’s hand. Heather’s eyes go wide and her head swings over to me. A knowing look crosses her face as the same acceptance as her mother’s, flashes there as well.
This has to be done.
I turn looking at Walker, “Have Cole take Hazel to the cells and secure a cell for her. If the witch is helping her,

we need to make sure she can’t escape.” Walker nods, then steps out of the room again, walking over to Cole.
I take a deep breath trying to prepare myself for what’s about to happen and turn back to Heather and Amy.
My family.
What I live and will die for. Amy looks back at me, tears still glistening in her eyes. Her spine straight and eyes firm. “Save our son.” She says sternly and I give her a curt nod.
