Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 238

Chapter 238

Griffon and I stand there in a stare off for what feels like eternity.

But he finally stands down, which is good, because I had no intentions to. “Dallas! Take Aspen to where she’s going.” He turns to Henry, “Unshackle him, he’s done for now. Hopefully, he understands how important it is to protect this pack.” He growls.

Dallas pulls me to stand up and I watch as Cameron nods his head, informing Griffon he understands.

His body weak as he has trouble keeping it upright while Henry deals with his shackles.

Dallas pulls me down the stairs of the stage and starts dragging me back to the fortress.

“You’re a fool.” Dallas hisses as we walk further from the stage. The pain in my stomach informing me this is actually happening. Griffon is actually whipping people when things go wrong.

Dallas drags me through the fortress and into a new room, a dining room. Why am I here?

He sits me down in the chair at the end of the large table and I glare up at him, “You’re the foolish one, Dallas. Goddess, if Amy could see you now.” I say nonchalantly, like it means nothing. Though, I know it’ll mean everything to him.

The growl that leaves him, is anything but friendly. He stalks closer and leans down to get into my face, “Don’t ever say her name to me!” He shouts, just as the doors open.

He takes a step back, continuing to glare at me as he walks over to where I’m assuming is his usual seat.

Finn walks into the room, his eyes darting to mine, then glancing down at my stomach. He must have been there, he knows what happened.

He doesn’t say anything though, just walks over to his chair. What is he doing here? What am I doing here?

Not long after Finn, Lenny walks in. His eyes gazing over me, then looking away to find his chair.

Goddess, none of them will even talk to me.

Silence spreads across the room, no one looks at me or even glances my direction. My anger only grows as I watch them all, watch how much they’ve changed. Watch the trauma they’ve been through shine on their faces.

The doors slam open, and I look to see Griffon stride in like nothing happened, but I won’t let him forget this. His lazy gaze meets my glare, then he looks away, like he can’t handle my stare.

But he doesn’t lose it. My eyes stay fixed on him as he sits, as the waiter comes in and pours the wine in our glasses, as the next waiters come in and set plates of food down in front of us, and as they all begin to eat in silence.

Waiters. I scoff in my head. Goddess.

I stay seated with my back against the chair, my arms crossed across my breast, glaring at the man I once loved.

I know he can feel it, I know it’s bothering him as he shrugs his shoulders like he can shake it off. I see the anger building, feel the tension rising, but I don’t stop.

“Eat, Aspen.” Griffon growls, low and menacing. I tilt my head at him, “No, Griffy.” I see everybody stiffen from the corner of my eyes, but I don’t take mine off him.

Suddenly, he flies out of his seat the chair falling to the floor and his plate flying into the wall beside him. “Eat!” He shouts, his glare meeting mine, but I don’t react. Just continue to glare at him.

“No.”

His body shakes from how angry he is, but his glare holds mine, not backing down this time.

Everyone in the room has stopped eating and is waiting for whatever’s about to happen.

“I have to protect this pack!” He shouts and my eyes narrow further. “By hurting the people who help protect it!” I shout back at him, sitting up straighter in my chair.

His jaw ticks, “They have to learn from their mistakes.” He growls. I scoff out a laugh. “And you?” I ask, his eyes narrow, “What about me?” The anger only seeming to grow in his soul.

The clouds above me crackling and I swear I hear thunder booming in warning.

“Have you been punished for yours?” I ask him, and his jaw clenches so tight, I’m shocked he still has teeth. “I think I’ve been punished plenty.” He growls and my lips purse, “You weren’t punished for anything. Your parents were.” I growl.
