Chapter 26
I mind-link Mia before I answer Walker, ‘Mia, who did that to her? I need names!’
‘Honestly Liam, I don’t know. She wouldn’t tell me anything, yet. She needs rest, I’m not going to push it right now.’ -Mia
I let out a growl of frustration. “Fuck! Yes, it was bad. She looked like someone used her as a dummy in training.” I yell at Walker and decide to walk out of there to. As soon as we’re out of the hospital I shift and run, my wolf really needs to vent. I look over and see Dallas’s car, he must have had the same idea as me.
I run back home and go behind my house, back in the creek. This has always been my wolves favorite place to shift. It seems to comfort him.
I stay shifted for two days, running the woods behind my house. My wolf wanted out, and honestly, I didn’t want to deal with being home right now. All I can think about is Amy’s broken body, and the fact that she doesn’t want any of us near her. My mom has kept me updated on her condition through mind-link, but it’s not helping the anger I feel.
Then I smell it. I run over to the side of my house and see Amy getting out of her mom’s car. I shift back and grab the clothes my mom must have left out on the porch for me and start heading over to her. I can see her wincing in pain with every step she takes, it’s like someone’s stabbing me in the heart every time her face winces. I run over faster and Mia’s already glaring at me. “Look, you don’t have to talk to me, but let me get you inside, please.” I plead, just needing to lessen her pain. I don’t wait for an answer and gently pull her into my arms bridal style and carry her into the house. Amy seems to relax in my hold, and I breathe a little easier knowing I’m helping her pain.
I get her to her room and lay her down on her bed. She doesn’t say anything to me at all, but I can tell she’s cold. I gently pull the blanket out from under her and lay it over her. I catch my scent in the bathroom and rush to go get the hoodie I gave her. I ease it over her head and her arms through the sleeves. Her whole body relaxes once it’s on. Then I go get the remote from the other side of the bed and place it next to her. I try and think of anything else I can do for her, and my mind shoots to water. I run downstairs and grab a tumbler for water and fill it up and run it back upstairs. She seems surprised when she sees me again. I place it next to her, and just stand there. I want to stay here with her. I want to hold her, until all her injuries disappear, but she doesn’t even remotely want me here.
She hasn’t said a word to me. I know I’m not her favorite person in our group, but I really don’t understand why
she’s upset with us.
I finally go to leave, once I get to her door I turn my head towards her. “I’m gonna want names, Amy.” I say and
walk out.
