Chapter 283
My gaze moves passed the hole in the ground to where the man sits dead on the chair. “Did you get everything
needed first?” I ask, turning towards Griffon. He shakes his head, “He took poison, he killed himself before we even had a chance to find out anything.” He explains and I look at the guy again. you
I have no love lost for this man, but it’s still hard to see a dead body. Especially after the vision I just had. I squeeze my eyes closed, trying to erase that image from my mind. When my eyes open again, Griffon’s standing in front of me. Blocking my view from the dead man in the chair.
I give him a grateful look before starting to move towards the hole in the ground, pulling out my phone and shining the flashlight into it.
I take a deep breath as a hard breeze that comes from nowhere waves over my skin. I look up and none of them seemed to have felt it, so I take that as my sign.
I stick my feet into the hole. “What are you doing?” Griffon growls and I turn to him. “Going in.” I respond and he shakes his head. “You’re insane if you think I’m letting you go first.” He growls and all he sees before I push myself into the hole is the smirk on my face.
I hear his growl on the way down, but it’s not as far as it seems. I land on my feet, already ready for the impact. I look back up at the hole. Griffon’s feet already sticking through and him pushing off.
“Aspen?” I hear Finn yell for me. “I’m good! It’s not as far as it seems!” I shout back at him. Griffon grunts when he lands next to me. “Will you ever listen?” He growls once he’s standing to his full height. I smile, “What fun would that be?” I ask him and he rolls his eyes.
I take the light and start looking around. I see a torch and tilt my head, “How long do witches live?” I ask Griffon and reaching for the torch. “Too long.” He growls, and I click my tongue. “Careful Griffon. Not all witches are bad.” I tell him, pointing up at the hole where Finn and Randy are still standing, while Cam starts to come down the hole.
He groans, “Right. Well, I honestly have no idea.” He tells me, and I nod.
