Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 284

Chapter 284

I walk around the stacks. There are a ton of witchy looking books and Finn and Randy start going through those, while everyone else starts at different places around the room.

I think it’s more shock than anything as I make no move to touch a single thing in here.

It all looks like it’s exactly where it’s supposed to be and chaotic minds organization. There are things here that have to be centuries old.

“What do you think?” Griffon whispers from beside me. I glance up at him, then back at the room. “I think, there’s no way we can go through all of this.” I tell him and he takes a deep breath looking around the room again too. “Yeah. I did not expect to find so much down here. Does anything feel like it might be helpful?” He asks, and I shrug. “I’m not getting anything yet, but there has to be something down here.” I tell him and he nods.

We search for an hour before Lenny throws an old dress out of an old trunk. “This is pointless. Anything important is probably hidden in some other secret room, that we can’t find. This witch is insane.” He says angrily and I sigh deeply, before looking around the room for the secret room Lenny mentioned.

It’s definitely possible.

Why wouldn’t she hide anything important more securely, but I’d say this room was pretty secure. We only found it by chance and Griffon’s anger issues, but maybe she planned for that.

She seems to be one step ahead of us at all times. Seems to be able to trick us at the drop of a hat. There’s a high chance that there is even more to this.

Why can’t I have a vision for something like this? Something as simple as finding what we need so we can get out of here. No, apparently, I only get visions of death and torture. Gotta love this life.

“He’s right. Maybe we can come back more prepared.” Griffon says looking over at me, and I purse my lips. We really don’t have much longer before our dads come storming through here to find us and make sure we’re okay. I really don’t want Liam to come here; he’s having enough trouble just seeing Amy in a cell again. Seeing this place might just send him over the edge.

I’m about to give in, when I feel it. The overwhelming sense of presence. Like I know whatever we need is in this

room.

My eyes start darting around the room, faster, more determined. I get up and start walking to the side of the cave. Just dirt.

I feel it so strongly here that I start to dig into the dirt. Dirt coating my hands and under my nails, until I finally hit something hard.

I dig a little further until I can pull whatever it is out of the wall. It’s just a little wooden box… I glance around at the group, all of whom have slowly made their way over to me and then look back at the box.

All of our heads snap up at the sound, our stances moving to ready for a fight. Shit.

But instead of an army of men coming through the tunnels a drop of water lands on my cheek. I look up. The blue light dimming and changing to a gray stormy color, and I see Griffon follow my gaze.

“How much do you want to bet that’s not just light?” He asks, and we both turn to look into each other’s eyes, a tinge of fear taking place in our gazes.

Then the down pour starts. The water falling from the gray speckles of light quickly, and I look over at the entrance when another loud bang goes off.

“We need to get out of here.” I tell the group and they all nod in agreement. I shut the lid to the box and put into my empty bag, then get ready to move, but… Where? Where do we go? There’s clearly something coming from the way we got in and I don’t see any other exits.

Griffon takes lead, “Come on.” He shouts over the downpour and starts leading us to the other side away from the entrance. “I saw another tunnel over here.” He explains as he makes sure all of us are following him. I look and see it; it’s further up in the air. Climbing rocks up the side of the wall to get to it.

We make it half-way across the cave and to the tunnel he’s talking about, before an even louder bang echos through the cave.

I turn towards the entrance just as a huge wave of water rushes through it and slams into the cave.
