Chapter 303
I throw my phone down on the table and glare out the window. “What was the about?” Griffon walks into the office and sits down in the chair across the desk.
I grunt as I make my way over to the bar and pour myself some whiskey and downing the whole glass.
I don’t know how this is going to go. I don’t know what questions they’re going to ask. This could end really badly.
I look over at Griffon. “The Alpha’s want a meeting.” I tell him and his eyes widen, then his face hardens. ” They’re mad about me.” He says, and I shake my head. “They’re mad about everything, and they said the only way they’ll even consider letting us in as allies is if we sit down and talk about it.” I tell him and he shakes his head. “Fuck.” He hisses under his breath, and I nod.
“Okay… Well, when do you have to leave?” He asks, and I stare at him for a moment. “I’m not. They insisted on coming here.” I tell him and he shakes his head standing up. “They can’t come here. What if they find mom?” He asks, and I take a deep breath.
“We’re just going to have to hide her well that weekend, because them finding her isn’t an option.” I growl at him, who knows what they’d do to her if they found out about everything going on here. Griffon sighs. “Fuck. This won’t end well.” He whispers and I nod. “Hoping for the best, Griff. We can do this.” I tell him and he nods, his eyes shocked. “What?” I ask him and he just shrugs, “Nothing. It’s just the first time I’ve seen you with even the slightest hint of optimism in a while.” He tells me and I roll my eyes.
You’d think they wouldn’t go into the cells, but once they know Amy isn’t around, I have a feeling they’ll go looking for her.
It might have just been easier to tell everyone she didn’t make it back with us, but I don’t think I could have lied about that and they would have seen right through it anyway. Walker wasn’t lying males can’t lose their mates without losing themselves, and while I may have been a bit unhinged lately, it doesn’t compare to a loss of a mate.
“I’ll help dad. Don’t worry, we’ll make sure this all goes smoothly.” Griffon tells me and my head bobs as I look at him, Goddess I hope he’s right.
