Chapter 315
White light suddenly surrounds Amy and 1, and our bodies are pulled from the vision, and into… Another one?
Four people stand in front of us, and Amy breaks down the second we’re standing still.
“Mom.” She wisps, falling forward and pulling her into her arms. Alpha John walks over to me and pulls me to him. “Aspen. You’ve been so strong.” He whispers, and feelings I didn’t even realize I had spill out. Tears falling from my eyes.
He chuckles, pulling away from me, and looking into my eyes. “We’re so proud of you.” He tells me, then turns to Amy as she pulls away from her mom and looks up at him sheepishly.
He shakes his head, “Not for a second, Amy. You did what you had to do.” He tells her and pulls her to his chest and her sobs deepen.
He shushes her calmly, his hand petting her hair soothingly. “I’m so sorry.” She rasps. I quickly realize there’s more to his death then what I’ve been told.
He shakes his head, “I’d only have been mad had you done it to save me. I would have dead a thousand times to keep this fate from happening.” He whispers to her.
Heather walks over to me, a kind smile on her face. She grabs my hands and looks me up and down. “Wow. My grandson is one lucky man.” She smiles, and my face blushes.
I notice Amy pull away from John and look over at the other man standing there.
“I’ve heard so much about you.” I whisper to Heather and her smile widens, “And I’ve been watching you since you were born. You really have grown into that stubborn streak of yours.” She laughs, and I join her.
“How?” Amy whispers, standing a few feet away from the man and looking at him like she’s scared to move closer. Heather leaves me and wraps her arm around Amy. “Loophole. The moon man didn’t kill him.” She tells her, deepening my confusion.
Amy’s eyes close, and she shakes her head, “I’m so sorry.” She whispers. The man shakes his head, “You did what you had to do. You did what I asked you to do, and because of that your family was safe for years, and I’m finally free.” He tells her, and her eyes widen. “Free…” She whispers, but he shakes his head.
