Chapter 316
My hearts on the floor as we try to figure out what to do. Amy’s body in my hands, after I made Dallas bring her out to me.
“This has to have something to do with the witch. They wouldn’t have both passed out at the same time otherwise. We don’t need a doctor, we need Hazel.” Cole says as I finally come out of my frantic thoughts.
I find him, and he’s looking at me, waiting for me to decide. But I know as much as him… He’s probably right. It’s definitely strange that they both went down at the same time.
I nod, my voice not coming to me.
I look back down at Amy, begging the Goddess to bring her back, when her eyes start to flutter open.
“Angel…” She cuts me off. Her hand wrapping around my neck and pulling me down to her lips.
The kiss is like coming up for air, while taking away my breath at the same time. It’s so rare anymore that I get to feel this close to her. Be this close to her.
I pull her closer, taking this in no matter who’s watching.
She pulls away and I reluctantly let her. Her eyes find mine, then she stands up and moves from my hold. Her eyes move to Aspen, and I look over there for the first time, seeing shes awake now too.
Her eyes don’t stay on her though, she moves to the cell and shuts the door behind her, walking to the bathroom then shutting that door.
Dallas and his confusion slowly move to the cell door and locks it, before turning back to me. “Should we still have Hazel check on her?” He asks me, but Aspen answers.
“No. We were together. I’ll tell you what happened. She doesn’t want the witch to hear any of it.” She tells us.
Griffon holds Aspen’s waist, keeping her up. “Do we need to hear it now? Should we make sure she’s okay first?” He asks Aspen, his worried eyes moving to the cell.
I look between the cell and Aspen, and her eyes are trained on me. “You need to hear what I’m going to say.” She tells me sternly and with a reluctant sigh I turn to Dallas.
He’s already nodding, “I’ll stay with her, and tell you how she is.” He promises, then I turn to follow Aspen and Griffon from the cells.
