Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 37

Chapter 37

Later that night, my party has started and I’m already over it. My parents both left and went over to Amy’s for the evening. It’s a rare day in this life when I’m jealous of my parents, but I’d do anything to switch shoes with them right now. This whole party has been like I expected, all the girls walking up to me hoping to be the future Alpha’s mate.

I hear some commotion near the door, and see Clara, Olive and Kylie walking in. They all three are dressed to the nines and start stalking over to me. Not really sure what Clara is doing, she’s only seventeen, even if she is my mate we wouldn’t be able to tell yet. I groan inwardly and swing my head to the guys. They all have murder written all over their face. We’re all pretty sure she’s the reason Amy was attacked, so in conclusion also the reason we’ll never see her anymore.

She gets to me and throws her body on my lap and swings her arms around my neck. She’s acting as if I didn’t completely ghost her. “Happy birthday, sweetie!” She exclaims and then starts coming towards me for a kiss. I throw her off my lap and she lands on the floor with a thud. I hear Walker and Dallas chuckle and I look down at her. “What the hell, Liam?” She screeches, Goddess, was her voice always this annoying? I pull her face up to mine and whisper for only her to hear. “I don’t want you. I haven’t ever wanted you; you were just easy. Leave me the hell alone.” I thought about adding something about Amy but felt like that might cause more problems for her, and I can’t do that to her. Clara looks like she’s about to cry, but I could care less. I shoe her away with my hand, and her friends that are looking at me with disgusted faces on, pick her up and pull her away.

Then, Cole walks over and chuckles, but I’m immediately on edge. “What the hell are you doing here?” I ask quickly. He’s supposed to be guarding Amy tonight, it’s not time for a shift switch. “Oh, me? Well, I wanted to give you your birthday present.” Cole says nonchalantly sitting in the chair next to Dallas. I’m seeing red, and he chuckles at me. “It’s right over there.” He says and points into the crowd. Then, I see it. Amy, standing by the couch talking to Mia. I don’t bother saying anything to them, and instantly stand up and walk over to her.

Once I’m next to her, I notice Mia slip away and Amy watch her friend ditch her with an accusing expression.” You came?” I ask, not believing she’s really here. She looks down shyly, then looks me in the eyes. “Yeah, well, my mom told me she’s going to homeschool me now, so my threat isn’t as serious anymore. And I figured with my four protecters here, and as long as I don’t go anywhere alone, I’ll be fine.” She says smiling up at me. I can’t help but smile, it makes me even happier that she still trusts us to protect her even after her attack. She’s not leaving my sight tonight, I already pissed Clara off. “You want to dance.” I ask, and she smiles shyly. “Sure. Just take it easy on me, my skulls still cracked.” I frown thinking about that, but she takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor.

We get to the dance floor, which is really just the middle of my living room, and a slow song comes on. I look over at the DJ and see Cole standing next to him smiling. I look down at Amy, who seems a little frightened now and pull her close. Like it’s a reflex her body curves to mine so she’s pushed as close to me as possible and her arms wrap around my neck, I pull her closer by her waist and we start to sway to the music; I don’t want to make to many quick movements because I don’t want her head to start hurting. I didn’t realize how right it would feel being this close to her. I lose myself in being next to her, that I don’t even realize what’s happening around me until I look over at the sound of a loud bang.
