Chapter 49

“Yeah… I know I said I’d give you time to think about things, so I probably shouldn’t have come last night. I just couldn’t stop thinking about it.” He says shyly. “Thinking about what?” I ask. He sighs and I hear him moving closer to me. He grabs my chair and spins it around and bends down on both knees in front of me. His eyes are focused on my lips and it seems to take everything in him to move his eyes to mine. “I couldn’t stop thinking about you never being kissed. About your lips pressed against mine, I couldn’t resist the urge to come over here. I’m sorry, if it was too much, too fast.”

I stare at him, he seems so sincere. So, he doesn’t regret the kiss, he just doesn’t think I wanted it to happen. I place my hand on Liam’s cheek, still looking into his eyes. His head tilts into my touch and he closes his eyes. Liam, if I didn’t want you to kiss me, I would have fought you off me. I might not have won the fight, but I would have tried. I don’t regret kissing you. I’m glad you were my first, I don’t know about you being my last.” I chuckle the last part, but he opens his eyes. “I do.” He says sternly, looking at me with fire in his eyes.

I don’t even know how to respond, when we hear a knock on the door and Liam stands and walks a good distance away from me. I can still feel his eyes burning into me as I turn towards the door and tell them to come in.

My mom walks in and looks at both of us suspiciously, “Are you going out tonight? I was hoping to go get some Christmas shopping done, and wanted to know if you were going out or having anyone over.” I look over at Liam and he smiles, “Yeah, we’re going out, Heather.” Liam answers, and I look at him skeptically. Where are we going? She nods and tells us she’ll be home around seven or eight and walks away. I’m honestly curious if she’d leave me alone in my room with any guy that isn’t Liam. She’s watched him grow up so maybe that’s why he gets special treatment. Or maybe the fact she doesn’t know how to deal with this situation, with it not being something I’ve ever done before. Oh well, I don’t want to ask because I don’t want her to change her decision.

I look up at Liam, I can see the lust still burning in his eyes, but he makes no moves toward me. “Where are we going?” I ask standing up, I start clearing all the books and papers off my desk. He smirks, “It’s a surprise.” I glare at him, but I shrug deciding to go along with it.

I tell him I’m going to get dressed and for him to wait for me downstairs. Once I’m done, I head downstairs and see him standing there waiting for me. I smile at him, he must have left and got changed from his school clothes, but to my surprise he’s dressed down. He’s wearing black basketball shorts and an old gray t-shirt. I look down at my nice jeans and nice purple long sleeve shirt, which I was planning on covering up with a cute cardigan. “So, I take it I need to change again?” I laugh at him. He smirks and rubs the back of his neck like he’s nervous. “Well, I was on my way up to tell you. Still dress warm, but probably better you don’t care about your clothes.” I smile, shake my head and walk back upstairs.

Now, I’m wearing so old jeans and a black thermal long sleeve shirt under an old dark red long sleeve, and head downstairs. I head straight to the closet to put on a hoodie with my winter coat on top of it. Liam walks up to me and pulls on the sides of my coat. “I like you better in my hoodie.” He says lowly looking at me with those bright green eyes. I smile shyly, “Yes, but you said I couldn’t care about the clothes I was going to wear.” He smiles at me and takes my hand leading me to the door.
