Chapter 94
Two days later we got Mia home and settled in. Walker stayed with her and the rest of us headed back to Liam’s house. She’s all healed, just on bed rest for a few days.
I hate this feeling, like at any second the whole world could come crashing down. He’s made his way into the pack three times, that we know of, undetected. Alpha John and his warriors, are trying to figure it out, but they haven’t come up with anything yet.
They also believe there’s a mole in the pack, since he seems to know so much about me. They haven’t figured anything out yet, and time is of the essence. The full moon is in two days, and that’s when he’s at his strongest.
Everybody is on edge; I could cut the tension with a knife. Nobody is talking about it though, at least not to me. I understand, nobody wants me to run, and they also don’t want to scare me. It’s far too late for that though. He attacked my friend in broad daylight, and she didn’t even see him. Not to mention, it wasn’t even a full moon. This guy is dangerous, but apparently, I’m just supposed to sit back and let them handle it. Like this couldn’t all be solved by me surrendering myself.
I don’t want to leave anymore, not now that I know I have a wolf. I don’t feel like such an outsider anymore. But if that’s what I have to do to keep everybody safe, I will. I refuse to lose anyone else I love, not if I can help it.
Once we’ve all rested a bit, Dallas suggests a movie. We were all twiddling our thumbs, not sure what to do and that seems to be our go to. We head to the movie room downstairs and get in our usual seats. It’s so weird not having Mia and Walker here, our group feels incomplete. We would have gone over there, but Walker said she’s resting.
We’re about half-way through the rom com when I feel my phone vibrate. I look down, figuring it was Mia, and saw it was an unknown number. I look around to see if anyone else heard it. They all seem to be watching the movie now. I excuse myself to go to the bathroom, for some reason I just know I shouldn’t open this around them.
I lock the bathroom door behind me and go sit down on the side of the bathtub. I take a couple deep breaths and open my phone.
*You’ve been warned. You need to leave! If you are not out of that pack by morning, I will kill every man, woman and child, come the full moon.*-unknown
My heart skips a beat. This is what I’ve been worried about. He’s tired of playing this game. I scroll down, seeing pictures. The first picture is of Dallas and I, when we were standing outside of Mia’s house. The next picture is of Walker and Mia inside of her room. They keep going, there’s at least ten pictures of all of us. All the people I care the most about. Him showing he can get to all of us, and we’ll never know. He was right there. Right next to us so many times.
