I didn’t look back.
By the time Tessa heard that someone from the Soren family had come looking for me over and ran into me on her way.
“Nira, are you okay?” she asked, scanning me quickly.
I couldn’t help the small shift in my mood at that.

Chapter 146 No More Lies
Aven returned empty handed.
Damon looked up the second he saw him.
“Well?”
Aven shook his head.
“She refused. Said she’s cutting ties completely. From now on, whatever happens to the Soren family nothing to do with her.”
Damon’s temper snapped instantly.
“That ungrateful brat.”
Jenna sat on the couch, her expression dark, her voice filled with bitterness,
“If I had known she’d turn out like this, I never would’ve brought her back from prison. I should’ve left he there to rot. Now that we’re in trouble, she just stands there and watches. She’s completely heartless.”
Eli scoffed. “I told you from the start. She was never going to be loyal.
Aven said nothing, but the frustration on his face was obvious.
No matter what had happened before, in his mind, this was still her family.
And she walked away.
But without her, they had no way of reaching Kade. Even getting a meeting with him was nearly impossible.
“Dad,” Aven finally said, “what do we do now?”
Damon’s face had gone pale, his hands clenched tight.
“The company is finished,” he said, his voice rough. “Bankruptcy is inevitable. We can’t cover the debt. I’m selling the house.”
He paused, his expression tightening.
“No matter what, I’m not losing my position as alpha of Blazeborn Pack.”
Jenna’s face drained of color.
“Sell the house?” she said, her voice shaking. “Then where are we supposed to go?”
Eli looked just as shaken.
“There has to be another way,” he said. “Everything we built can’t just disappear like this.”
Damon sank back into the couch, covering his face.
