Chapter 150 Break and Run
Nita’s POV
“Boss, enough talking,” one of the men said, stepping forward, impatience written all over his face just get this over with so we can get paid.”
The leader gave a small nod, his eyes settling on me with a cold, almost amused look. “Don’t/take personally, Miss Soren. If you hadn’t crossed the wrong people, you wouldn’t be here
I kept struggling, forcing panic into my voice. “Stay away from me. Don’t come any closer. Don’t touch
me.”
At the same time, I scanned everything around me, distances, angles, timing, anything I could use.
“Hey, take it easy,” another one called out with a laugh. “We’ve got a line waiting. Don’t break her too fast.
“Relax,” the man said, baring his fangs as he stepped closer, rolling his shoulders like he had all the time in the world. “She’s not going anywhere.”
“Don’t come any closer,” I repeated, my voice shaking, even as Lyra’s energy surged beneath my skin, eager, almost restless.
I shifted slightly, hiding the movement behind my struggling.
“Come on, don’t be scared,” the man said with a grin as he reached for my shoulder. “I’ll go easy on you.”
The second his hand got close enough to touch me, I moved.
My claws came out as I snapped the rope clean off my wrists, then drove my foot up hard, slamming it straight into his knee with everything I had.
He didn’t see it coming.
A sharp cry ripped out of him as he staggered back, barely staying on his feet.
I didn’t hesitate. I used that opening, moving fast, and vaulted up onto the windowsill, already shifting my weight to make my escape.
“Shit, she’s getting away!” the man shouted, clutching his knee as his wolf eyes flared, then lunged straight
at me.
My expression went cold.
I dropped back down in front of him instead of running, closing the distance in a heartbeat, and drove my claws straight toward his throat without a second thought.
His eyes widened in shock.
He didn’t even have time to react before the strike landed, tearing through his throat as blood burst out, hot and fast, spilling over my hand.

He hit the ground hard.
I didn’t hesitate
The others would hear that any second.
I turned and sprinted toward the window I’d noticed earlier in the corner, the one boarded up with old wood that had already started to loosen with age.
I reached it in two strides and drove my foot straight into the planks.
They cracked and split apart.
Right before I jumped, I flicked a vial from my sleeve and snapped it open, sending a fine cloud of powder drifting into the room behind me.
Then I was out.
The door slammed open.
Several men rushed in, only to freeze at the sight in front of them.
The man lay on the ground in a spreading pool of blood.
“What the hell? That wolfless girl killed him?” one of them shouted, disbelief cutting through his voice.
“Go after her!” the leader’s voice came from outside, sharp with anger.
But before they could move, one by one, they dropped.
Bodies hit the floor in rapid succession.

The leader’s expression changed instantly as he covered his mouth and stepped back. “Poison. Don’t breathe it in.”
Two men near the doorway didn’t make it out in time. Foam gathered at their mouths as they collapsed.
The leader’s face darkened, his voice dropping into a furious growl. “This isn’t right. The intel’s wrong. There’s no way she’s wolfless.”
His eyes hardened. “Find her. I don’t care what it takes. I want her. Alive or dead.”

And then, just as I kept running, I heard it, the sound of footsteps closing in fast behind me, which meant the assassins had already found my trail.
