She hesitated for a moment before continuing.

I could easily imagine how harshly Janice had suffered that night.

Ropes bound her hands and feet firmly, leaving her completely immobile.

The warehouse door suddenly swung open, and a chilly wind rushed indoors.

Nira stepped into view.

Dressed in a black long coat, she walked steadily forward. Her gaze was icy sharp, and her imposing aura rivaled that of any powerful Alpha. No one would guess she was someone without a wolf spirit.

I stopped right in front of her and looked down coldly. “Mrs. Soren, long time no see.”

I reached out and peeled the tape off her mouth calmly, meeting her furious stare.

Jenna shouted angrily the second her mouth was free, “Nira! Ungrateful girl! How dare you kidnap me? Do you have any idea what you are doing? The Soren family will never let you get away with this!”

“I am merely returning the favor,” I sneered sarcastically.

“Besides, do you truly believe they still hold power to threaten me? I hear Damon may soon lose his Alpha status.”

Jenna’s face paled, panic flickering in her eyes before she forced herself to regain a tough stance. “What exactly do you want from me?”

I stared straight at her with a stern expression. “I need to know who my real birth parents are.

“Why does your blood share such striking similarities with mine after it was altered? Lyra mistook you for my mother once because of that. I even lost my wolf spirit while trying to save you.”

Jenna turned deathly pale but still refused to confess, trying to lie her way out. “I have no idea what you are talking about. You have always been a member of our family.”
