Nira’s POV:

The moment Ivory’s fangs sank into Colt’s arm, his howl of agony shattered the tense silence. He thrashed around wildly, desperate to shake the snake loose, his eyes burning with psychotic rage.

In that heartbeat of distraction, Kade and I locked eyes. We didn’t need words. Kade seized the opening, kicking Colt’s legs out from under him and sending him crashing to the floor.

Ignoring his own injury, Kade rushed to me, his hands trembling violently as he fumbled with the knots on the ropes, yet he never stopped trying to free me.

Seeing him like that–seeing the blood dripping from his hand–the dam finally broke. Tears streamed down my face, hot and fast

But Colt wasn’t finished. He scrambled to his feet, his gaze fixated on me with pure, unadulterated hatred. Bones cracked and shifted as he phased into his wolf, and with a terrifying snarl, he lunged. “I’m going to kill you both!”

Kade didn’t hesitate for a fraction of a second. He spun around, wrapping his arms around me and using his own body as a shield, bracing himself to take the impact..

I counted down in my head. Three seconds.

Just as Colt was about to strike, his body jerked to a halt. His face flushed a sickening shade of purple, his lips turning blue, and then he collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud.

“You… you…” Colt rasped, his eyes wide with a mix of terror and fury. He convulsed violently for a moment before going completely still.

Kade kept me locked in his embrace, breathing hard as he stared down at Colt’s body, clearly stunned by the sudden turn of

events.

I managed to shake off the last of the ropes and ripped the duct tape from my mouth. My throat felt like sandpaper. “The venom.. it’s lethal.”

Hearing those words, the tension drained out of Kade. His eyes rolled back, and he slumped to the floor.

“Kade!”

“Mr. Howell!” Jett finally burst into the room.

I caught Kade before he hit the ground, panic rising in my chest. “Hurry! We need to get him to the ER, now!”

Jett took in the scene–Kade unconscious and the severed finger on the floor–and his face went ashen. “Ms. Soren, please! You have to help him!”

I froze for a split second. Right. I was a top–ranking surgeon. I had completely forgotten amidst the chaos.

1 forced myself to switch off my emotions and slip into doctor mode. I grabbed the medical kit i always carried in my bag and started barking orders.

“Jett, help me lay him flat.” I stripped off Kade’s ruined shirt to get to his left hand, which was gushing blood

worked quickly, applying a styptic to staunch the bleeding before wrapping the wound tightly with sterile gauze. Inside, I was freaking out terrified for him, but my hands moved with instinctive precision–fast, clean, and professional.

“Let’s move. We need to get him to the hospital.” Once I stabilized him, I looked up at Jett. “We don’t have a second to lose. Without his wolf spirit healing him, this injury could turn critical fast.”

Jett scooped Kade up onto his back, and we sprinted toward the hospital wing.

Bursting through the ER doors, I grabbed the first nurse I saw. “I need an operating room prepped, now! This patient is losing too much blood. He needs immediate surgery.”

The nurse blinked, looking unsure. Just then, Briar strode over. “Do exactly as she says.”

“Y–yes, sir.” The nurse scrambled to obey.

Briar looked down at Kade’s unconscious form, his expression grave. “What’s the status?”

“Self–amputation of the left pinky,” I reported, my voice steady despite the turmoil in my gut. “The witches‘ potion has his wolf healing blocked. He needs surgery immediately. I’m going to operate. Can you assist with the prep?”

Third–Person POV:

Briar studied Nira for a beat, then nodded. “You focus on

the

surgery.

I’ll handle the logistics.”

As I headed into the scrub room, Briar pulled out his phone and messaged the dean, Zach Barnes.

Zach arrived within minutes. He stared at the red light above the OR doors, then turned to Briar, gripping his arm tightly. “The Miracle Healer… she’s really in there? It’s actually her?”

“I know,” Briar replied with a firm nod. He’d had to pull strings with Zach to authorize Nira to use the OR, but getting her to agree was the real victory.

Inside the observation room, Zach watched the monitor. Nira had already scrubbed in, gloved up, and begun the operation. Nira’s hands were rock steady, her movements fluid and precise. She was in total command of the procedure.

Zach stared, his eyes widening with a mixture of shock and excitement.
