Nira’s POV:

I looked more closely. It was Kade. My eyes widened slightly.

Don’t worry,Kade’s voice came from the other side, steady and composed. There’s a divider between the pools. We might hear each other, but we can’t see anything.

I frowned faintly. I’m not worried. You just could have mentioned it earlier.

There was a brief pause before he replied, I forgot.

I didn’t know whether to laugh or be annoyed. Still, it didn’t really affect my mood.

It was just him. It wasn’t like there was anything I hadn’t already seen. Softly, almost absentmindedly, I began humming to myself.

Kade’s POV:

Hearing her hum so casually, I couldn’t help but shake my head slightly. She really did seem unaware of certain things.

After getting dressed, I stepped out and waited in the lounge area.

Jett appeared moments later, his expression serious as he leaned in and spoke in a low voice. Sir, Mrs. Howell has taken a group of highranking guards to Whitehaven Isle. She intends to take Colt.

As I listened to Jett’s report, my mood sank instant

always been under my control. Everyone stationed there answered to me, and the entire island was locked down tighter than any private security system money could buy. A dozen elite guards wouldn’t even make it past the outer perimeter, let alone get close enough to take Colt.

If Jett had come to me with this, then something had gone far beyond a simple intrusion.

He hesitated for a moment, clearly choosing his words carefully before lowering his voice. She held her claws to her throat and said if Colt wasn’t handed over, she would kill herself. The men didn’t dare intervene. They’re waiting for your instructions.

For a brief second, everything in me went still.

Then the anger hit, sharp and immediate, tightening in my chest until it was hard to tell whether what I felt was rage, disappointment, or something closer to exhaustion.

I clenched my fists, forcing myself to stay in control, suppressing the violent urge rising beneath the surface, the instinct to let Odin take over and tear everything apart just to release the pressure building inside me.

My own mother had done this more than once, choosing an adopted son over me without hesitation, even going so far as to threaten her own life to force my hand.

The thought drained whatever energy I had left, leaving behind a heavy, quiet fatigue.

After a long pause, I made my decision.

Let her take him.

Jett looked at me, something complicated flickering in his expression, but he didn’t question it. Understood.

He stepped back and left.

Nira’s POV:

When I stepped out of the hot spring, I immediately saw Kade sitting in the lounge area.

He looked up at me, and for a brief moment, our eyes met.

Something about his expression felt off.

It was subtle, almost impossible to catch, but there had been a flicker of something heavier beneath the surface, something that didn’t match the calm, controlled version of him I was used to seeing.

Then it disappeared.
