Chapter 37 The Show Begins

If Colt got out, it wouldn’t end quietly. Someone like him never let things go, and revenge was practically second nature.
I wasn’t afraid of him. I just didn’t want the hassle.
Going up against one of the alpha king’s heirs wasn’t dangerous for me, but it was time–consuming, and I had no interest in getting dragged into something that pointless.
Kade must have caught on to what I was thinking, because his voice softened slightly. “Don’t worry. I won’t give him another chance to come after you.”
I smiled, calm and steady. “If he wants to try, he’s welcome to. I’ll make sure he learns his lesson the hard way.”
Kade didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he studied me, his gaze sharp and searching, as if trying to piece something together. After a moment, he let out a faint, knowing chuckle. “You may be an alpha’s daughter, but without a wolf spirit, you’re still at a disadvantage. Colt outclasses you in both background and strength. You should be careful.”
I let out a quiet scoff but didn’t bother explaining.
If he had any idea how powerful Lyra really was, he wouldn’t have said that, and he definitely wouldn’t have stayed so calm knowing I was the heir to the Silvermoon Pack.
After a brief exchange, I turned and left.
When I got back to the Soren estate, Nolan had just pulled in.
The low growl of a high–end engine cut through the driveway as he stepped out of a brand-new sports car, every movement dripping with self–satisfaction.

isn’t something you can just buy, even if you’ve got money.”
I didn’t
glance back at him as I walked past.
Nolan still had the mood to show off like this, which meant he truly believed the scandal had already blown over.
Good. I let him enjoy it while he still could. The higher he climbed, the harder he would fall.
From the second–floor balcony, I looked down at the scene below.
Janice and Eli had already gathered around the car, their attention completely fixed on it.
“Janice, on the first day of school, I’ll drive you there in this,” Nolan said, his tone full of pride. “I guarantee everyone’s going to notice you.”
Janice’s eyes lit up instantly as she circled the car, unable to hide her excitement. “This is incredible. Everyone’s going to be so jealous.”

Eli let out a laugh. “That’s nothing. The three of us will roll in together. I’ll take the lead, Nolan behind me, and Aven bringing up the rear. Three cars lined up at the entrance, engines running. The whole place is going to turn their heads. Our girl makes her entrance like a queen.”
Janice’s smile widened, her expression practically glowing as if she could already see herself becoming the center of attention.
I leaned lightly against the railing, holding my glass as a faint, cold smile crossed my lips.
She really did love being in the spotlight. I just hoped she could handle what came next.
The first day of school arrived, and the entrance to Howard Academy was packed with students and parents.
Nolan drove in first, the sleek sports car cutting through the crowd like a blade, Eli and Aven following closely behind. The synchronized roar of the engines drew attention long before the cars even came to a stop.
Janice sat in the passenger seat, carefully dressed, soaking in every glance directed her way.
When the three cars finally pulled up at the entrance, the effect was immediate. Conversations paused, heads turned, and people began to gather.
Nolan stepped out first, dressed sharply, carrying himself with effortless confidence. Eli and Aven followed soon after, the three of them standing beside their cars, instantly becoming the focal point of the entire scene.
And with Nolan already being a well–known public figure, the atmosphere shifted almost instantly.
Students began recognizing him, excitement rippling through the crowd as people rushed forward, asking for photos and autographs.
Nolan smiled easily, fully embracing the attention, occasionally striking poses as cameras flashed around him.

Nolan greeted the students warmly, signing autographs and posing for photos without hesitation.
After a moment, he cleared his throat and raised his voice slightly. “Hey, everyone. I’m not here as a celebrity today. I’m just here as Janice’s brother, sending her off on her first day.”
