Killian was playing the piano out on the terrace, with Natalie leaning against his shoulder, flipping through a photo album.

The sunset washed over them in a soft golden light, and the lavender bushes swayed gently in the evening breeze.

As the last notes faded, Desmond couldn’t hold back any longer. “Aunt Natalie!” he called out.

Natalie glanced up, startled, then quickly rose and hurried toward us. “Desmond! Nira! What brings you all here?”

She took my hand, her eyes glistening with happy tears. “Nira, those therapeutic techniques you showed me-they really worked. Killian’s memory has improved so much.”

Killian walked over as well, a warm smile on his face as he looked at me. “So you’re Nira. Natalie talks about you constantly.” His gaze softened. “You really do favor her… If only you were truly our daughter.”

Hearing those words, my fingers unconsciously twisted the hem of my shirt. My heart pounded so hard I could feel it in my throat.

Now that I knew the truth-that I really was their biological daughter-standing this close to them, breathing in their familiar scent, filled me with a deep sense of safety and belonging.

No wonder Lyra had always been drawn to their presence from the very beginning.

I glanced toward Kade. He gave my hand a reassuring squeeze.

Desmond drew a deep breath and stepped forward. “Aunt Natalie, Uncle Killian… We came here because there’s something important you need to know.”

Natalie blinked, looking puzzled. “What is it? You’re making me nervous.”

The air seemed to grow still in that moment.

My throat tightened, and even breathing felt difficult.

Kade gently stood beside me, his presence steadying.

Desmond couldn’t contain himself any longer. He rushed forward, waving his arms excitedly. “Auntie! Uncle! Nira is your real daughter! Dina switched the paternity results-Jason kept the original report. Here, look!”

He fumbled through his backpack, pulled out a worn folder, and scattered several papers across the patio table with a rustle.

Natalie took the yellowed paternity test with trembling hands. The moment she saw the line stating “99.99% probability of relationship,” tears spilled from her eyes.

“If you’re not certain. we can do another test-” I began nervously, twisting my fingers together.

But before I could finish, Natalie rushed forward and pulled me into a tight embrace. “We don’t need another test. I believe it. sweetheart.”

Her tears dampened my collar. “From the very first time I saw you, I felt this pull… this connection. It must have been our blood recognizing each other.”

Killian moved closer, his own hands unsteady as he cradled my face. “You’re… you’re really our daughter,” he said, voice breaking. “Our most precious gift.”

I broke down then, sobbing in the warmth of my parents’ arms.

Natalie cupped my face, studying my features through her tears. “Let me look at you… my sweet girl, all this time…”

On the sidelines, Desmond wiped his eyes. “It’s perfect… Qur family is finally whole.”

Kade remained a quiet, reassuring presence nearby, offering me a gentle smile.

Suddenly Natalie stood, still gripping both my hands. “We’re going home. Tonight.”

Her voice shook with emotion. “I’m going to make up for every single year we missed.”

Killian was already on his phone, making arrangements. “I’ll have the jet ready within the hour. Desmond, call the finest jeweler in the Creekshade territory-tell them to set aside the latest collection.”
