Nira's POV:
I looked down at Rhea's unconscious body from above, disgust churning in my gut.
I gave her body a rough kick, but she stayed completely limp, not even a twitch.
"That's it?" I clicked my tongue, genuinely disappointed. "You scare this easily? What a letdown. I wasn't even done yet."
She was nothing compared to the high-rank criminals I dealt with in prison. Those wolves loved picking on the weak, and even after months of what I did to them, they still held up better than this.
I grabbed Rhea by the collar with one hand, hauled her up, yanked the door open, and tossed her straight outside.
Her body slammed hard against the floor with a dull, heavy sound.
So this was the trash Janice sent to frame me. Fine. She could come see the little surprise I'd prepared for her herself.
It didn't take long before I heard that Janice had come running home from the party, crying her eyes out.
With Lyra bonded to me, my hearing was hundreds of times sharper than a normal high-rank wolf's. As long as I focused, every sound in the house came through clearly.
I sat back on the couch, relaxed, listening to the chaos unfolding downstairs.
"Miss Soren, you're back..." an Omega maid said in an overly eager tone.
"Get out of my way!" Janice snapped.
Jenna sounded frantic. "Janice, what happened? You went to a party, how did you come back like this?"
Janice burst into tears. "Mom, this is humiliating. How am I supposed to face anyone ever again?"
Jenna tried to soothe her while pressing for answers. "Oh sweetheart, don't cry. Tell me what happened. What went wrong?"
Janice sobbed for a while before she finally spoke, her voice shaking. "I was just talking with friends at the party, everything was fine, and then all of a sudden... all of a sudden..."
She hesitated, clearly struggling to continue. "Mom, it's too embarrassing. I can't even say it out loud."
That was when I heard it, loud and unmistakable.
Pfft. Pfft. Pfft. The sound echoed through the quiet house, painfully clear. I laughed out loud in my room, completely unrestrained.
Just listening wasn't enough. I slipped downstairs and hid in a secluded corner so I could watch her embarrassment in person.
Janice stood there frozen, eyes wide with shock and shame, her face burning red, but the sounds just kept coming, one after another.
A few Omega maids nearby were sneaking glances at her, barely holding back their laughter.
