The others closed in around her, forming a tight circle. They looked her over like predators sizing up prey, their laughter low and sickening.

The bald man chuckled and crouched in front of her, dragging his filthy hand up her thigh.

Tessa ashed out on instinct, kicking wildly. Her foot caught him under the chin.

He grunted in pain, then his expression turned vicious. Without hesitation, he drove a hard kick into her side.

Tessa curled in on herself, the impact knocking the air out of her as tears spilled uncontrollably.

Damn it,he snapped, furious now. You’re really asking for it.

He grabbed at her clothes, trying to tear them.

Tessa screamed, struggling with everything she had left. Her hands flailed blindly until her fingers brushed against something cold and sharp.

Silver.

It burned against wolf energy, but her wolf hadn’t awakened yet. It wouldn’t affect her.

Survival instinct took over. She grabbed it and swung with everything she had.

The impact landed with a dull crack.

Blood burst from the man’s forehead as he staggered back, shouting in pain and losing his grip on her.

For a split second, the others froze.

Then their eyes snapped into wolf form, claws extending as they closed in again, their expressions turning feral.

Tessa pushed herself up against the wall, gripping the silver object tightly. Her whole body trembled, fear and anger mixing together, but her gaze stayed locked on them.

Don’t come any closer!she shouted, her voice shaking but firm. I mean it!

They didn’t take her seriously.

If anything, it made them more aggressive.

Step by step, they advanced.

And just as the tension snapped, the factory doors slammed open with a deafening crash.

Nira’s POV:

I stood in the doorway, gripping a metal pipe in my hand. If things escalated, I needed something to mask Lyra’s power. My gaze swept across the group surrounding Tessa, sharp and cold.

They turned toward me, clearly startled for a moment, but that didn’t last.

After sizing me up, they burst into laughter.

Seriously?one of them scoffed. She doesn’t even have a wolf, and she thinks she’s saving someone?

Another, a guy with a scar running across his face, smirked. And what’s with the pipe? You think that’s gonna do anything? You couldn’t take down a lowtier omega with that.

I didn’t respond.

I just stepped forward, dragging the pipe along the ground. The metal scraped loudly against the concrete, the sound cutting through the space.

Their laughter faded slightly.

I kept walking.

Hey, sweetheart,a tall, lanky guy said as he stepped out from the side, a lazy grin on his face, why don’t I keep you company for a bit?

He thought this was a joke.

He didn’t even make it two steps.

The second he got within reach, I moved. Lyra’s power surged through me in a sharp, controlled burst as I drove the metal pipe forward in a clean, decisive swing, the force behind it cutting through the air before crashing straight into his arm.

The impact landed hard.

A crack followed.

Ah-!His voice broke into a scream as he dropped instantly, clutching his arm. He didn’t even get the chance to shift before the pain folded him in half, forcing him down into a crouch.

The others froze.

For a brief moment, none of them moved, like they couldn’t quite process what they had just seen.
