Nira’s POV:
I followed his gaze toward the entrance and saw another man standing there, his build almost identical.
The crowd reacted immediately.
“Oh my God, that’s Leland!”
“You mean the other legend from Computer Science? The one they call a Howard Academy genius alongside Jasper?”
“Yeah, that’s him.”
“He’s a total coding machine. Barely talks, avoids people, just lives in his own world.”

“He led a team to win the interspecies programming championship against wolves, vampires, and witches. No one really knows how deep his skills go.”
“I heard the Howell family already recruited him. Once he graduates, he’s going straight into the alliance’s core leadership.”
I listened quietly. I had met him before through Alden, so none of this felt surprising.
And I wasn’t nervous.
There were very few people I couldn’t beat. Unless my adopted father and X9 teamed up against me.
That wasn’t happening.
Leland walked onto the stage, brushing past Jasper.
Jasper tilted his head slightly and said in a low voice, “Leland, I’m looking forward to this.”
Leland didn’t stop. He walked straight up to me, his eyes carrying a clear challenge.
“Nira, that was impressive,” he said. “Watching from the crowd got me fired up. I’m into this field too, so I figured I’d step in and challenge you myself.”
I raised an eyebrow slightly.
This version of him felt completely different from the one I had seen before, like he was deliberately acting like we had never met.
Still, I kept my tone calm. “You’re giving me too much credit. But I’d be glad to learn from someone at your level.”
He smiled faintly. “Then let’s get started. I hope you go all out and make this worth watching.”
“Of course.”
Naomi stepped forward again, her expression more serious this time. “Given the level of both competitors, this match will be conducted in a CTF format. Nira will be the attacker. Leland will defend. Nira has 360 minutes to penetrate the simulated network built by Leland. No prebuilt tools or frameworks allowed. Everything must be developed independently.”
The match began the moment he finished speaking.

I glanced at Leland briefly and saw him already moving fast, structuring his network, locking down firewalls, controlling ports, tightening access rules, optimizing intrusion detection, and writing scripts to monitor traffic.
I turned back to my screen and focused.
I built a custom port scanner, mapped out the network, and constructed a full topology.
Then I ran my own vulnerability detection scripts, checking for SQL injection points, buffer overflows, and anything exploitable.
Once I identified a potential weakness, I analyzed his defense mechanisms and routed my traffic through proxy layers and encrypted tunnels to stay hidden.
The atmosphere in the room shifted as time passed.
Everyone was completely focused, eyes locked on the screen, barely even breathing.
The livestream comments were pouring in nonstop.
[Leland’s defense is rock solid, this is going to be tough.]
[She’s pulled off miracles before, I’m still betting on her.]
[This is the best match all year.]
Time kept moving. At the five–hour mark, Leland finished reinforcing his system.
I entered the final stretch, refining every step, making my approach quieter and more precise. With ten minutes left, I broke through.
The system was compromised. The entire auditorium erupted.
“She did it! Nira actually broke through!”
Students in the front row jumped to their feet, some even partially shifting as they cheered and clapped.
The livestream exploded even more.
[This is insane, she just cleared a boss way above her level!]
[She’s rewriting the game, absolute legend!]
All the earlier doubt was completely gone.
Leland’s POV:
I stared at the breached system for a moment before I finally snapped back to reality, and when I did, a quiet laugh slipped out, more relief than anything else.
The last time I saw Nira at Alden’s, I already knew she was good.
But today made something painfully clear.

Chapter 98 Peak Match
I hadn’t even been close to understanding how good she actually was.

Her reaction speed, the way she handled logic, the depth of her control over complex systems, it all pushed past what I thought was possible, especially for someone without a wolf spirit.
What this kind of match demanded wasn’t just skill, it required extreme mental endurance and physical stamina to keep up with the intensity for hours. Any low–tier Omega would have burned out long before the end.
And yet Nira stood there like nothing had happened.
No fatigue, no strain, no sign she had just gone through a six–hour battle.
That didn’t make sense.
It wasn’t just impressive, it was unsettling.
Something about her didn’t add up, and whether I liked it or not, I knew I’d have to look into it.
I pushed those thoughts aside and stood up.
“Nira,” I said, my tone steady, “I lost fair and square.”
Then I turned toward the cameras, my expression sharpening as I addressed the entire room.
“Nira represents the future of the pack alliance’s tech world. Her talent and ability speak for themselves, and I’m confident that on bigger stages, she’ll bring real victories to our people.”
I let my gaze sweep across the crowd before continuing, my voice firm.
“And let me make one thing clear. Anyone who tries to tear her down is making an enemy of the entire Computer Science department.”
The reaction was immediate.
“Exactly! Nira’s one of us now!”
“Anyone who dares to come at her because she doesn’t have a wolf spirit better think twice!”
“From today on, she’s under our protection. Nobody messes with her!”
The support spread fast, building momentum, until a single voice cut straight through it.
“Doesn’t matter how many people she beats. She still didn’t take the exam!”
That one sentence shifted the energy instantly.
Before Nira could even respond, the students around stepped forward.
“Our department decides our rankings,” someone shot back. “Nira is number one. What does that have to do with you?”
“Exactly. We stand by her.”

“Nira’s number one! Nira’s number one!”
The chant started to rise, louder and louder, until Alden stood up.
He didn’t need to say much. Just lifting his hand was enough to bring the entire room back under control.
Silence fell almost immediately.
He walked to the front, his presence steady, his voice carrying effortlessly.
“Today, I’ll explain the truth.”
Not a single person spoke.
Even the livestream seemed to freeze, as if everyone was waiting for what came next.
Alden looked across the room before continuing.
