Chapter 104 Be Guinea Pigs
Chapter 104 Be Guinea Pigs
Leo opened his mouth, about to say something.
He wanted to ask, ‘Son, do you even know how to cook?’
But then he remembered Grayson was working so hard just to pursue Eloise. As a father, he figured he should at least help him out.
So he turned to Noah with an apologetic look and said, “Noah, how about we wait a bit and let your dad have a chance?”
Noah could only nod, his face full of disappointment as he slumped back into his chair.
Hannah had been waiting so long that she started nodding off.
An hour later, Grayson and Noemi finally came out, each carrying several plates of food.
“Dinner’s ready!” Grayson called out.
Hannah perked up at his voice.
When the three of them saw the four dishes laid out on the table, their forced smiles were so awkward it was almost painful to watch. Honestly, it looked worse than crying.
Seeing everyone just sitting there, Grayson urged, “Come on, dig in!”
Hannah glanced over at Leo.
Noah looked at his grandpa.
Leo just stood there, completely speechless.
‘Alright, looks like I’m the guinea pig here,’ Leo thought to himself.
He picked up a piece of pork chop and took a bite.
“Is it good?” Grayson asked.
Grayson looked at him expectantly.
Leo sat there in silence, the meat still in his mouth, not knowing what to do.
‘If I swallow this, I’m just punishing myself. But if I spit it out, I’ll be letting my son down, Leo thought.
After thinking it over, he decided he’d rather disappoint his son than suffer through it.
He got up, walked into the kitchen, and spat the meat into the trash can.
Grayson followed him in and just stared, speechless.
Leo patted him on the shoulder. “Don’t be discouraged. Just keep at it.”
Noemi cleared her throat. “I really did my best.”
Grayson just stood there, speechless.
He looked frustrated. “What are you trying to say, Noemi?”
Noemi stood there, looking helpless. “Mr. Pierce, I really did everything I could.”
Grayson looked downright gloomy.
Hannah couldn’t help but chuckle. “Alright, stop picking on Noemi. You’re just clueless when it comes to cooking.”
“Grandma!” Grayson gave her a plaintive look.
Hannah didn’t even glance at him. She turned to Noemi and said, “Noemi, whip up three bowls of pasta for us. My great-grandson’s starving.”
“Got it, I’ll make them now,” Noemi replied.
Noemi hurried into the kitchen.

She was silently cursing her luck.
I’m just here to cook, not to teach cooking,’ she thought.
Noemi worked fast. In less than fifteen minutes, she had the pasta ready and brought it out, even making a bowl for Grayson.
“Mr. Pierce, you must be exhausted today. Have a bite,” she said.
Grayson let out a sigh.
He didn’t even bother with the pasta. With a stormy expression, he walked off without another word.
Noemi looked miserable. “Leo, Hannah, did I mess something up?”
Hannah waved it off. “It’s not on you. He’s got his own issues. You must be worn out too. Go ahead and eat.”
She slid Grayson’s untouched bowl of pasta over to Noemi.

Eloise called Noah. “Hey, baby, did you eat yet?”
Noah replied, “Yeah, I did.”
“What did you have?” Eloise asked.
“I thought it was food… but actually, it was just pasta. Dad suddenly showed up and tried to cook for us, but he turned the kitchen into a total mess, and the stuff he made tasted really bad. So Noemi had to make us pasta instead,” Noah grumbled.
Noah kept complaining to Eloise about Grayson, not holding back at all.
Eloise couldn’t help but laugh. “Was it really that bad?”
“Yeah, Dad said you loved pork chops, so he asked Noemi to show him how to make them. But when Grandpa took a bite, he spit it right out. I didn’t even dare try it. I thought it might kill me,” Noah complained.
Eloise only caught the first part of what he said.
She was stunned for a moment.
It wasn’t until Noah called out, “Mom?” that she snapped back to reality.
“Yeah? What’s wrong?” Eloise replied.
“Can you please tell Dad to stop cooking? We don’t want to be his guinea pigs,” Noah complained.
Eloise was speechless.
She gave a vague reply, chatted with Noah about some other stuff, and then they said goodnight and hung up.
Just as she hung up, she heard someone knocking at the door.
Eloise didn’t even have to think about it. She knew exactly who it was. She didn’t bother going to open the door.
Grayson called out from the other side, “Eloise, open the door.”
Eloise walked over and stood behind the door. “Not opening. Go back to your own place.”
“Eloise, stop messing around. Just open the door,” Grayson said.
“I’m not opening the door,” Eloise replied.
“Alright, but if I start yelling, the neighbors are gonna come out…” Grayson said.
Before he could even finish, the door swung open.
Grayson walked in with a big grin, closed the door behind him, and bent down to change his shoes.
Eloise went back to the couch and pretended he wasn’t even there.
Grayson walked over, sat down right next to her, and scooped her into his arms.
Eloise pushed him away. “Go away, you smell!”
Grayson sniffed himself.

Yeah, he really reeked of cooking oil and smoke.
He let go of Eloise, got up, and headed for the bathroom. After a couple steps, he turned back and said, “Eloise,
I haven’t eaten yet. Could you make me a bowl of ravioli?”
“Nope!” Eloise shot back.
“I’ll pay you,” Grayson said.
“Sure, three thousand bucks. Send it over later,” Eloise replied.
“Deal,” Grayson said.
Grayson grinned and made his way to the bathroom.
Eloise followed him over and stood at the bathroom door.
Grayson rested his hand on his belt, giving her a teasing look. “Want to watch?”
Eloise rolled her eyes and snapped, “Creep!”
Grayson said, “Just so you know, that towel’s the one you used. I don’t want it. You can have it. The new one next to it is mine, so hands off.”
Grayson gave her a half-smile. “You wouldn’t even let me in a minute ago, but you’ve got a towel all set for me? Acting all cold, but you’re actually super thoughtful. Such a softie.”
Eloise was speechless.
She slammed the door and stormed off to the kitchen.
After his shower, Grayson came out with a towel wrapped around his waist.
Grayson spotted a steaming bowl of ravioli on the table, sat down, and dug in.
Eloise sat on the couch, watching her show.
Grayson glanced up and saw she was still watching that immortal cultivation show.
