Grayson Pierce and Eloise Caldwell novel Chapter 105

Chapter 105 Two Lab Mice

Chapter 105 Two Lab Mice

After spending the whole night replaying everything in his mind, Grayson felt confident again.

‘Cooking? How hard could it be? I can totally do this,’ he told himself.

He was determined to be a thoughtful husband, cooking all of Eloise’s favorite dishes for her.

Grayson couldn’t help but smile at the thought.

“Mr. Pierce, that’s vinegar! Not soy sauce!” Noemi called out.

Noemi’s thunderous shout jolted Grayson out of his daydream.

“Noemi, what should I do? Is there any way to save it?” Grayson asked.

Noemi sighed. “Just dump it.”

“Um, let me take over. No need to waste the ingredients,” she said.

“Noemi, are you saying I can’t afford the ingredients?” Grayson asked.

“No, that’s not it…” Noemi replied softly.

Noah snuck off to a corner and secretly called Eloise. “Mom, help!”

Eloise was speechless.

“Mom, you have to come stop Dad. He’s gonna kill us with his cooking!” Noah pleaded.

Eloise chuckled helplessly. “I’m driving right now. I’ll be there in half an hour.”

“Awesome!” Noah cheered.

As soon as Noah hung up, Hannah and Leo came over and grabbed him, pulling him out of the room.

“Great-grandma, Grandpa, where are we going?” Noah asked.

Hannah put a finger to her lips. “Shh! Keep it down. We’re taking you out for a feast. Just don’t let your dad find

out.”

Grayson came out with a plate of food, only to find the dining room completely deserted.

“Where did everyone go?”

The servant replied nervously, “They went out.”

“Where to?”

“Um… I think they went to a restaurant,” the servant mumbled.

Grayson thought, ‘Are you kidding me?’

Just as Grayson was feeling down, his phone rang. It was Rhys. “Grayson, where are you?”

“At Pierce Manor,” Grayson replied.

“I’m with Colton. Come out for a drink,” Rhys said.

“Can’t. I’m cooking,” Grayson replied.

“Cooking? Seriously? Grayson, you’re actually cooking? Since when did you become a chef?” Rhys laughed.

After a brief pause, Grayson said, “Hey, wanna come over for dinner?”

Rhys was practically bouncing. “Of course! Dude, I never thought I’d get to taste your cooking. This is epic! Colton and I are on our way!”

Grayson rolled his eyes, dropped his phone on the table, and trudged back to the kitchen to give cooking

another shot.

Eloise parked her car and saw two sports are one of one welling in right behind her.

Chapter 105 Two Lab Mice

Rhys and Colton hopped out of their rides.

Colton spotted Eloise and flashed her a grin. “Ms. Caldwell,” he called out.

Eloise gave a polite nod. “Hello.”

Rhys kept quiet, looking kind of uncomfortable.

Honestly, Rhys used to look down on Eloise and had talked a lot of trash about her. But after getting a reality check, now he felt pretty embarrassed facing her.

Grayson had already told them that Eloise broke up with him back then just to protect him.

All things considered, Eloise was honestly a rare gem.

Eloise walked toward the house, and Rhys and Colton followed her inside.

Grayson looked genuinely surprised when he saw Eloise. “Hey, Eloise, what brings you here?”

Eloise shot a glance at his messy apron, and Grayson followed her eyes, noticing the splotches of grease all over it.

“I accidentally got it dirty while cooking,” he said, trying to act casual.

Eloise gave a small cough and said, “I’m here to pick up Noah. Where is he?”

Only then did Grayson remember. Noah had school tomorrow.

“My dad and grandma took him out for dinner,” Grayson replied.

Colton gave Grayson a look. “Wait, you’re cooking, so why did everyone bail and go out to eat?”

Rhys piped up, eager, “Let me see what delicious stuff you made.”

Rhys practically sprinted to the dining room, only to find three dishes laid out on the table.

Rhys was stunned into silence.

Just then, Noemi carried out two more dishes.

Rhys gave them a quick look.

His face contorted, and he swallowed nervously.

Colton noticed Rhys looking like he’d seen a ghost and walked over, curiosity written all over his face.

When he saw the dishes on the table, he fell silent too.

Grayson said, “Alright, dinner’s ready. That’s all I’ve got for now. If it’s not enough, I’ll make more.”

Rhys and Colton were lost for words.

Rhys gave Colton a quick wink and mouthed, “Bail?”

Colton gave a tiny nod.

So Rhys and Colton linked arms, flashing goofy grins as they waved goodbye to Grayson.

“Uh, we just remembered something we gotta do, so we’re gonna head out,” Rhys said.

Grayson grabbed both of them before they could escape. “Sit down and eat before you even think about leaving.”

Looking utterly hopeless, Rhys and Colton plopped down, resigned to their fate.

Noemi cheerfully served them some bread, then added with a grin, “Oh, and I made this myself.”

Grayson was speechless.

Noemi hurried back to the kitchen, watching from behind the door as the three guinea pigs sat in the dining room, a look of pity in her eyes.

Grayson tugged Eloise over to sit right beside him.

Eloise was unfazed. She’d seen it all before, unlike Rhys and Colton. She just glanced at the dishes, cool and collected.

“Let’s dig in.”

Grayson said as he served a piece of braised pork chop into each of their bowls.

“Go on, give it a try. It’s Ucrevine-style,” he said.

Rhys and Colton just forced awkward smiles, not daring to touch the food.

Grayson urged, “Come on, eat up.”

Rhys looked at Eloise. “Hey, you’re from Ucrevine, right? You probably like this. Why don’t you give it a shot first?”

He grabbed the chopsticks and served a massive piece of braised pork chop into Eloise’s bowl.

Grayson quickly scooped it back into his own bowl. “Eloise can have some later.”

Rhys and Colton were speechless.

Noemi, peeking from behind the door, thought, ‘So it turns out there were only two guinea pigs.’

Eloise was struggling to keep a straight face.

She had no clue how Grayson got these two to show up, but from the looks on their faces, they were seriously regretting their life choices right now.

Under Grayson’s intimidating glare, Rhys and Colton looked like they were facing a death sentence. They gingerly nibbled at the food as if it might bite back.

Rhys couldn’t hold it in for even a second. He snatched up a napkin and immediately spit the meat out. “Ugh, this is terrible!”

Colton was a whiz in the kitchen and a famous food blogger. He’d sampled everything from gourmet delicacies to total culinary disasters. Nothing could really faze him at this point.

He was a bit more chill than Rhys, forcing himself to chew and swallow that piece of pork chop.

Grayson was crushed by Rhys’s reaction, but seeing Colton actually eat the pork chop, his hope flickered back to life.

“Colton, it’s good, right?” Grayson asked.

Colton was a food blogger with over 10 million followers.

Colton’s opinion was the real deal. Rhys’s input didn’t really count here.

With Grayson watching him expectantly, Colton said as nicely as he could, “If you dial back the salt and sugar, and fix that weird aftertaste, it’d taste a lot better.”

Rhys was about to say something, but Colton stomped on his foot, so he kept his mouth shut.

Grayson figured that since Colton gave it a pass, the dish must be safe to eat. With a relieved grin, he

confidently served Eloise a piece. “Eloise, you can try it now,” he said.

Rhys shot Colton a resentful look, his eyes saying, ‘You can’t bring yourself to crush him, but he’s got zero mercy for us. He’s totally using us as guinea pigs!’

Rhys glanced at Eloise, wondering if she could really handle eating it.

Eloise calmly took a bite of the braised pork chop, unfazed and showing no reaction as she ate.

Rhys thought, ‘Is she for real?’

Eloise calmly tasted every dish on the table, not even batting an eye.

Rhys started doubting his own taste buds, so he grabbed something from another plate and gave it a try.

Seeing his tortured expression, Eloise couldn’t help but laugh. “Isn’t it amazing? Here, try this one, and this one, and this one. They’re all fantastic, aren’t they?”
