Chapter 115 Afraid You’ll Run Away

“You’re crazy! I’m not going!” Eloise shouted, her face flushed with anger.

She clung to the car door, refusing to go with him.

Grayson pried her fingers off one by one and dragged her toward the convenience store.

At the entrance of the convenience store, Eloise was still fighting him, refusing to give in.

“Grayson, can’t you just go in by yourself? I’m a girl, it’s embarrassing. I really don’t want to go,” she whined.

Grayson grinned at her. “Nope. I’m afraid you’ll make a run for it.”

Eloise shook her head hard. “I won’t run, seriously. I’ll just wait right here for you.”

“Nice try, little trickster. You’ve pulled this before. Why would I trust you?” Grayson shot back.

Eloise could only stare at him, lost for words.

In the end, Grayson dragged Eloise into the convenience store.

Inside, two girls spotted Grayson and their eyes lit up. They whispered to each other, “Wow, he’s so hot!”

‘Hot? More like a total psycho, Eloise scoffed to herself.

She’d been fooled by his good looks before.

The only good thing about being with Grayson was that she ended up with a handsome son like Noah. Grayson didn’t even spare the two girls a glance. The vibe he gave off was so intense that no one dared to get close.

The store wasn’t big, so Grayson found what he wanted in no time.

There were only a handful of boxes left on the shelf, and he scooped up every last one.

Eloise’s mouth twitched as she whispered, “Maybe leave a few for someone else?”

Grayson turned to her. “Why? It’s barely enough for me. I’ll ask the cashier if they’ve got more.”

Eloise could only stare at him, lost for words.

To keep Grayson from actually asking the cashier, Eloise snatched the boxes out of his hands and hurried to the checkout counter.

Grayson stood there, resting his finger against his nose, his shoulders shaking with laughter.

The two girls nearby just stared at him, totally mesmerized.

When a guy that good-looking smiled, everything else just faded into the background.

They couldn’t see or hear anything else. All they could focus on was how drop-dead gorgeous he looked when he smiled.

The cashier, a guy in his twenties, kept glancing at her.

Eloise stood straight, pretending to be calm.

“That’ll be 120 dollars. Cash or credit card?” the cashier asked.

“Credit card,” Eloise replied.

She passed her card to him.

The cashier just stared at her.

“Ma’am, you need to input the password.”

With shaky hands, she finally input the password.

After paying, Eloise scooped up the boxer and time four of the store without even looking back.

Grayson caught up to her. “Why are you in such a hurry? Is a ghost after you or something?”

Eloise shoved the boxes into his arms, barking, “Hold these!”

Grayson caught them and muttered, “Why didn’t you grab a bag? It’s so awkward to carry them like this.”

Eloise ignored him and stepped to the curb, ready to hail a cab and go home by herself.

But Grayson wasn’t about to let her leave. He tossed the boxes into the back seat, hauled Eloise up, and stuffed her into the passenger seat, slamming the door and locking it before she could even react.

The car shot off like a rocket.

It was obvious just how desperate Grayson was to get going.

Eloise clutched the armrest, rolling her eyes. “Grayson, are you nuts? Slow down, will you?”

Grayson kept his hands on the wheel, barely glancing at her. “I’m in a rush.”

Eloise just stared at him, at a loss for words.

It finally hit Eloise that Grayson wasn’t heading back to Maple Apartments.

“Where are you taking me?” she asked.

Grayson replied, “Obviously, somewhere with a bigger, sturdier bed, and somewhere we won’t get interrupted.”

“I’m not going! I want to go home!” Eloise shouted.

Grayson smirked. “Eloise, this is the road home, our home.”

When the car pulled up to the villa on Clidale Road, Grayson grabbed two boxes from the back seat, stuffed them into his suit pockets, and dragged Eloise out of the car.

At the door, he pressed his thumb to the fingerprint scanner.

Eloise wasn’t surprised. Grayson had been sneaky about it, adding her fingerprint to the system way before she even knew.

If she ever moved in, Grayson could just waltz in and out whenever he wanted.

The door chimed, and Grayson suddenly scooped her up, carrying her inside and kicking the door shut behind them.

The door slammed closed.

Eloise’s heart gave a jolt.

Eloise struggled and pushed at Grayson. “You’re insane! Let me down!”

Grayson gave her a light swat on the butt. “Behave yourself!”

Eloise just stared at him, speechless.

Her cheeks flushed.

“Grayson, are you nuts? Let me down already!” Eloise yelled.

Grayson gave her another playful smack. “Quit yelling. Save your energy for later when you really need to scream.”

Grayson took the stairs two at a time, heading straight for the master bedroom.

He tossed Eloise onto the big bed, and she bounced once before sinking back into the mattress.

Grayson leaned in close, his voice teasing in her ear. “You used to whine that the mattress in that rental was way too hard, always poking you and making you miserable. Said you wanted something softer.”

“So, what do you think of this one? I picked it out just for you.”

Eloise’s heart was racing. She turned her head away, not saying anything.

The room was dark, but the curtains were wide open, and moonlight poured in, letting Grayson take in every detail: Eloise’s fair skin, her beautifully shaped brows and eyes, and those lush, red lips.

“Eloise, you’re stunning,” Grayson whispered.

“You’re too heavy. Move,” Eloise protested.

Grayson rolled over, switching their positions so Eloise was now on top of him.

“Better now?” he teased.

Eloise squirmed, trying to get off him.

But Grayson’s big hand pressed down on the back of her head, while his other hand pinned her at the small of her back, holding her down.

He kissed her, not missing a beat.

‘There’s no point in fighting… There’s no way out,’ Eloise thought helplessly.

Eloise finally surrendered.

Her mind screamed at her to stay away from Grayson, but her body betrayed her.
