Grayson Pierce and Eloise Caldwell novel Chapter 128

Chapter 128 So Clingy

Leo made himself comfortable and sat right next to Noah.

He was surprised by how amazing Eloise’s cooking was. He just couldn’t stop eating.

The whole family had a great dinner together. Leo played with Noah, Hannah dragged Eloise over to watch TV with her, and Grayson was sent to clean up the table.

When Grayson went out to take out the trash, Eloise got up and followed.

Grayson’s dark eyes lit up.

He thought, Well, is she really that clingy? Even taking out the trash, she has to follow me?

He grinned from ear to ear.

Eloise followed Grayson in silence as he took out the trash. On the way back, she finally said, Grayson, a woman came by today. She said she was your mom.

Grayson stopped in his tracks and asked, What did she say?

Eloise kept walking, hands in her pockets, not even looking at him. What else? She told me to stay away from you,” she replied.

Grayson’s eyes instantly went cold.

He quickly caught up to Eloise, stepped in front of her, and set his large hand on her shoulder. There was a hint of tension in his deep gaze. He said, Just ignore her. If she comes again, don’t let her in.

Eloise stared at him, surprised, saying, ButShe’s your mom

Grayson said, She has nothing to do with me.

Eloise hesitated, wanting to ask Grayson about his mom, but thought better of it. Everyone had their own private matters, so it wasn’t her place to dig.

Grayson said in a low, steady voice, She and Leo have long divorced. She walked out on this family and on

  1. me.

We’re done. Don’t bother with anything she says. If she gives you trouble, call me, or just tell her off.

Grayson hadn’t spelled it all out, but Eloise could guess something.

Even someone as strong as Grayson had scars he was unwilling to face.

Eloise managed a smile and said, I already gave her a piece of my mind today. She left looking pretty pissed.Grayson reached out, gently tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, his voice full of affection. You did great.”

Eloise felt her cheeks burn from his gentle eyes and quickly looked down.

Grayson didn’t care about the people passing by. He just pulled her into his arms.

When they went back, Leo stood up, ready to leave, and asked casually, Mom, are you coming home with me?

Hannah was still glued to the TV and waved her hand, saying, Nope.

She thought, Staying here is really good. Eloise’s cooking is amazing, and I can play with Noah every single day. There is no way I’m going back.

Leo had to leave, looking a little reluctant.

If it weren’t for the fact that it wouldn’t be appropriate, he’d totally move in here, too.

For the next few days, Leo would make a beeline for Clidale Road right after work.

Eloise naturally cooked more dishes, almost without realizing it.

Grayson was a little unhappy.

At the dinner table, he shot a disgruntled nak tan and Canoss from him and even gave Noah a side Successfully unlocked!

-eye.

Grayson complained to himself, Why are there so many people? How annoying. And I can’t even kick them out.”

His dream of having some alone time with Eloise was getting further and further out of reach.

But Eloise really enjoyed this cozy, happy family vibe.

Growing up, she barely got to experience any warmth at home.

Every meal, she had to tiptoe around Lorelei, afraid to speak up or even reach for dishes that weren’t right in front of her. Lorelei would just shoot her a glare and give her a hard time.

Thinking of the past, she felt a bit sad.

Grayson picked out a piece of fish for her, making sure there were no bones left. Focus on your food, not your worries,he said.

Eloise glanced at him, her heart warming up a little. She took the fish and popped it in her mouth.

After dinner, Leo left, and soon Hannah and Noah went back to their rooms.

Eloise was watching TV when her phone rang.

It was Beckett calling.

Eloise picked up and said, Mr. Hayes.

I’m not your boss anymore, so you don’t have to be so formal. Just call me Beckett,Beckett said.

Eloise replied, feeling a bit uneasy, I’d rather call you Mr. Hayes, honestly. Calling you Beckett just feels

awkward.

Beckett didn’t insist, saying, Eloise, I’ll get engaged the day after tomorrow. How about we meet up for a bit

tomorrow?

Eloise politely declined. I can’t make it tomorrow.

Beckett pleaded, Just one hour, okay? I want to talk to you.”

Grayson snatched the phone from Eloise and said, Hey, Beckett, can’t you take a hint? She said she’s busy. Why are you still bugging her? If you keep this up, I’ll come over and mess you up!

Grayson growled and hung up the phone quickly.

If it weren’t for Beckett hiring Eloise back when she was in trouble, Grayson would’ve beaten him up without a second thought.

Grayson thought, He’s about to get engaged, and he’s still sneaking around, trying to make moves on my girl?

Eloise was eating an apple, clearly amused as she watched Grayson lose his cool.

She said, Seriously? I have already rejected it.”

Grayson gave her a puppyeyed look, saying, Come on, block Beckett now!”

Eloise just ignored him, kept eating her apple, eyes still fixed on the TV.

Grayson wanted to snatch her phone and do it himself, but he didn’t dare.

Eloise was still holding a grudge, and with her mood still sour, he wasn’t about to push his luck.

Just then, the TV was showing the main couple kissing.

Grayson asked in a husky voice, What are they doing?

Eloise teased, Are you blind?

Before she could finish, Grayson pulled her over and pressed her down on the couch.

Afterward, Grayson licked his lips with a smirk. So sweet,he said.

Eloise blushed and pushed him away, ditched her apple, and dashed upstairs, totally forgetting about the TV. Grayson smiled and turned off the TV, following her up.
