Grayson Pierce and Eloise Caldwell novel Chapter 133

Chapter 133

Eloise slept very soundly that night, without a single dream.

When she opened her eyes, she saw Noah sleeping peacefully beside her, and her heart melted.

She smiled softly.

Grayson was behind Noah.

The two of them were sleeping with their hands folded neatly over their chests.

Eloise found the sight so heartwarming that her nose tingled with emotion.

She thought, ‘Maybe… I should try to trust Grayson.’

Days off were the best. After Grayson went to work, Eloise took Noah straight to the amusement park.

Noah wasn’t into the babyish stuff, so they picked a park with more thrilling rides.

There were kid-friendly roller coasters, pirate ships, and even a mini drop tower.

Noah really enjoyed it, riding everything over and over until he was drenched in sweat.

Eloise let Noah sit on the steps, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and handed him a sausage.

Noah ate the sausage, his cheeks rosy from all the excitement.

He said, “Mom, this is fun, but it’s not exciting enough. Next time, can we do something even crazier?”

Eloise said, “Those rides are for grown-ups, you know.”

Noah insisted, “I can handle it! Let me try, please!”

Eloise poked him on the forehead, saying, “Keep dreaming. You’re just not tall enough yet.”

Noah’s face fell in an instant.

He wolfed down the rest of his sausage and ran to line up again.

Eloise took out her phone and snapped pictures of him like crazy.

Ever since she had Noah, her phone was nothing but photos of him.

Noah was full of energy. In the end, Eloise had to reluctantly pull him away.

They had dinner at the mall, and as they were heading out, they bumped into Yvonne.

Yvonne was walking with a middle-aged woman, Sarah Baker. When she spotted Eloise, her face instantly darkened.

She noticed the little kid next to Eloise and walked right over.

Yvonne sized Noah up.

Noah looked more like Eloise than he did Grayson.

Yvonne thought, ‘Is he really Grayson’s kid?’

She asked, “What’s your name?”

Noah didn’t like her, so he didn’t answer.

Yvonne snapped, “I’m talking to you. Are you mute or what?”

Eloise pulled Noah behind her and said coldly, “He isn’t mute. He just doesn’t bother talking to people he finds annoying.”

Yvonne was left speechless.

She thought, ‘She may come from a low background, but she’s got quite the attitude. How dare she talk back to me? Doesn’t she know her place?’

She sneered, “Is this how you teach your kid? No manners whatsoever. Sure enough, people from humble backgrounds are always so poorly raised.”

Sarah, next to Yvonne, asked, “Who are they?”

Yvonne replied casually, “The woman who won’t leave Grayson alone.”

Sarah’s eyes widened. She said, “I remember now! There was a news story about a woman who had a kid and kept pestering Grayson. So this is her!”

She looked Eloise and Noah up and down.

“Her kid’s already this big, and she’s still out here chasing after Grayson? How shameless!” she sneered.

Eloise didn’t even bother with Sarah. She turned to Yvonne and said coldly, “Whether I have any manners or not is none of your business, and how I raise my son is definitely not up to you.

“With someone as unreasonable as you, I think my son is right to ignore you. I back him up all the way.”

Yvonne’s face twisted with rage.

Sarah shouted, “Oh my god, who does she think she is? She’s so arrogant! Yvonne, hurry up and ask Grayson to break up with her. A woman like that is nothing but trouble.

“You’re Grayson’s mother, for crying out loud! She doesn’t even show you any respect. It’s like she’s turning the world upside down!”

Hearing this, Yvonne was seething with frustration.

She thought, ‘If only Grayson would actually listen to me.

‘Grayson is totally under Eloise’s spell now. He wouldn’t listen to a single thing I said, and even warned me to stay away from Eloise.

She’d come back hoping to fix things with Grayson, but because of Eloise, their relationship was even worse

now.

Eloise smirked coldly at them.

Grayson once told her, “If you show weakness, people will just bully you.”

From now on, she must go back down anymore.

Although Yvonne might be Grayson’s mom, Grayson said she didn’t have to care. If Yvonne started anything, Eloise should just snap right back at her.

Gotta admit, cussing someone out felt awesome.

Noah’s face was serious. He totally understood what was happening.

He looked up at Yvonne and asked, “So, you’re the one who gave birth to my dad?”

Yvonne said, “No manners at all. You should be calling me Grandma.”

Noah asked bluntly, “I’ve never seen you at home. Did you divorce Leo?”

Yvonne was left speechless.

Noah continued, “Why did you divorce Leo? Was it because you did something wrong?”

Yvonne grabbed Sarah and left hurriedly.

Her guilty look said it all. Noah had definitely struck a nerve.

Eloise ruffled Noah’s hair.

She teased, “You little smarty pants, how do you know so much?”

Noah looked up at her, his brows furrowed. “Mom, is that woman really Dad’s mom?” he asked.

Eloise replied, “Yeah.”

Noah said, “She’s so annoying. I don’t like her.”

Eloise gave his head a gentle rub and said, “Me neither. Let’s ignore her.”

Sarah had been friends with Yvonne for years, and she knew all about why Yvonne got divorced back then.

Although Yvonne did some shady stuff back in the day, as her friend, Sarah was always on Yvonne’s side.

Sarah asked, “Yvonne, is that woman really just waltzing in with her kid like she owns the place? Why’s the kid calling Grayson ‘Dad”?

“And you, telling him to call you ‘Grandma’? He’s not even Grayson’s real kid. Why are you getting mixed up in all this?”

Yvonne didn’t hide anything from her friend. “Grayson says the kid is his,” she said.

Sarah was shocked, asking, “Really? That kid looks four or five. How could he possibly be Grayson’s?”

Yvonne replied, “They dated for a while about five years ago.”
