Chapter 148
Chloe was scared now and didn’t dare mess with Eloise anymore.
But she swore she’d make Eloise pay.
If anyone dared to steal the man she liked, she wouldn’t let them off easily.
Once Grayson got tired of Eloise, she’d deal with her.
She didn’t believe Eloise’s son was Grayson’s. He had to be some other man’s child.

After dinner, Eloise and Grayson walked out of the restaurant.
“How about we catch a movie?” Eloise suggested.
Grayson’s eyes sparkled. “Let’s go to a private theater.”
“No. I want to go to one of those big theaters, you know, with lots of people,” Eloise replied.
Grayson frowned. “Those places are so dull.”
He couldn’t even sneak a kiss in a place like that.
Eloise instantly knew what he was thinking and teased, “Isn’t all that kissing at home enough for you? Don’t go making a fool of yourself in public.”
They ended up in a big theater, but right behind them, a couple was making out, totally oblivious to everyone else.
They weren’t just kissing. They were making loud, obnoxious noises.
It was totally ruining the movie for Eloise.
Grayson’s knuckles were popping as he clenched his fists, barely holding back the urge to punch someone.
Eloise held Grayson’s hand down, turned her head, and fixed her gaze on the couple behind them, not even blinking.
Grayson’s face darkened even more.
He reached over and covered her eyes.
Eloise pushed his hand aside and kept her eyes locked on the couple.
Grayson was speechless.
He lowered his voice. “Quit looking!”

Eloise beamed and nodded.
Grayson stood in the line, tall and strikingly handsome. He was impossible to miss.
Several girls couldn’t help but stare at him.
He kept a blank expression, and nobody dared approach him.
His aura was so commanding, it made everyone around feel intimidated.
Eloise pulled out her phone and snapped a photo of him.
Suddenly, someone grabbed her wrist.
Eloise instinctively yanked her hand away.
She turned and saw it was the guy who’d been making out in the theater, giving her a creepy grin.
“Hey, beautiful, you were staring at me earlier. Do you like me?”
Eloise just froze.

“Come on, let’s have some fun. I’ll show you what a real make-out session feels like,” he said, winking at her.
Eloise felt disgusted.
In a world this big, there were all kinds of people.
“Get lost! Stop grossing me out,” Eloise snapped.
“Stop acting all shy. I know you’re dying for a kiss. Your boyfriend doesn’t know how to have fun, but I can show you what you’re missing,” the guy said, wiggling his eyebrows.
Eloise rolled her eyes. “Seriously, get lost. My boyfriend’s scary as hell. If he hears you, you’re toast.”
“What are you afraid of? Come on, just slip away with me while he’s not paying attention,” the guy said.
“Where do you think you’re taking her?”
A chilling voice suddenly cut in from behind.
The guy spun around, caught sight of Grayson, and scurried off, looking guilty
Grayson narrowed his eyes, shoved the cake into Eloise’s hands, and said, “Go wait in the var
Eloise knew what he was up to and quietly trailed after him.
A few minutes later…
In a secluded corner outside the mall, Grayson was raining blows on the guy. The guy was left groaning on the ground, unable to even move.

“1… I did,” Eloise stammered, her cheeks burning.
“That’s my girl! Let’s keep going,” Grayson said.
Eloise just froze.
This man was so petty, always making a fuss about everything.
It had nothing to do with her, yet he kept making her suffer.

Noah woke up feeling pretty down.
Hannah asked, “Why the long face this morning?”
Noah mumbled, “I miss Mom.”
Hannah chuckled, “Aw, such a mama’s boy! Don’t worry, after breakfast we’ll head home together.”
“Mm.” he replied.
When Hannah and Noah got back to Clidale Road, Grayson was just coming downstairs, getting ready for work.
Hannah glanced at the clock. “You’re late.”
Grayson flashed a smug grin. “Grandma, I’m only human, not some god. Sometimes, things happen and I can’t help running late.”
Hannah was speechless.
Noah rushed upstairs, but Grayson called out, “Stop right there!”
Noah froze, turned around, and said, “I want to see Mom.”
“Nope, not now. Mom’s still sleeping. Let her rest a bit longer,” Grayson said.
Noah puffed out his cheeks and glared at him. “You’re so mean!”
Noah stomped back downstairs, still sulking, and ran out to the yard.
