Noah dashed into the house to say hi to Hannah, then huffed and puffed as he climbed into the car, buckled himself into his car seat, and fastened his seatbelt.

Even though Grayson acted all annoyed, he still went over to check that Noah’s seatbelt was properly fastened before getting behind the wheel.

As they hit the road, Noah suddenly piped up, “Dad, I’ve got English and piano lessons today.”

Grayson kept his hands on the wheel. “Call your teachers and cancel them yourself.”

“What if they don’t believe me?” Noah asked.

Grayson clicked his tongue. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll call your teachers when I get to the office.”

“Okay,” Noah replied.

Once they arrived at the office, Grayson called over an assistant to look after Noah. After he got into his office, he asked Finn to call Noah’s English and piano teachers and cancel his lessons, and then finally got down to work.

Eloise woke up and realized it was almost noon. She rubbed her temples.

Ever since she started sharing a bed with Grayson, she’d been slacking off more and more.

She spotted a message from Grayson on her phone.

[Baby, I ordered breakfast for you. Make sure you eat it. Noah came to the office with me, and his lessons for today are canceled.]

Eloise put her phone down, got out of bed, and headed to the bathroom to wash up.

The first floor was quiet. Hannah had already gone back to Pierce Manor.

Eloise had brunch, changed clothes, and went back to tinkering with the sunroom.

There was a spot nearby where she wanted to set up a table and two chairs, so she could relax there with a cup of coffee and take in the flowers.

She browsed online but nothing caught her eye, so she drove out to the furniture market.

She finally found the perfect table and chairs and had them delivered straight to her place

Before she could even start putting them together, her phone rang. It was Grayson. “Hey, want to swing by the

office?”

Eloise replied, “Nope.”

“Come on, just drop by. Once I’m done here, we’ll grab dinner together. Noah’s been saying he wants steak

She couldn’t afford to make a scene with the security guards, so she turned away with a stiff expression, and that was when she spotted Eloise.

Eloise had no intention of acknowledging her. She sidestepped Yvonne and headed straight for Grayson’s private elevator.

The security guard personally opened the elevator for her, swiped his card, and pressed the button for the

22nd floor.

Yvonne’s face was twisted with frustration. It was almost painful to look at.

The two security guards ducked their heads and scurried away.

As soon as Eloise stepped out of the elevator, Noah launched himself at her. “Mom!”

Eloise grinned and ruffled his hair. “Did you have a good time today?”

“Yeah! I saw a ton of robots, and they could even dance!”

Noah went on and on, telling her all about the cool and fun stuff he’d seen that day.

“Where’s Dad? Is he still working?” Eloise asked.

Noah replied, “He’s still discussing work with Finn.”

Corrie walked over and said respectfully, “Ms. Caldwell, Mr. Pierce would like you to come in.”

Eloise replied, “I can just wait out here.”

Corrie said, “Mr. Pierce really misses you. Please go inside.”

Eloise’s cheeks flushed as she headed toward Grayson’s office.

As soon as she and Noah walked in, Grayson looked over at her, his gaze practically smoldering with affection.

Finn froze for a second.

Eloise cleared her throat. “Go ahead, don’t mind us.”

She led Noah over to the couch and sat down with him..

Finn rushed through his report.

In less than ten minutes, Finn left the office.

Grayson shut down his computer, stood up, and walked over to them. “Let’s go.”

Eloise grabbed her bag, took Noah’s hand, and headed for the door.
