Chapter 169 Has She Gone Crazy?

Eloise pulled up a chair and sat down, while Joslyn stood behind her, giving off a vibe like she’d kill anyone who dared get close.

Eloise said, “So, why’d you call me here? Is it to see the wife and the side chick share the same stage for once, or are you two about to throw hands and want me to play referee?”

Lorelei leaned back against the sofa.

‘I’m done for. I’m dying here,’ Lorelei thought.

Bobby shot back, “Eloise, have you lost it? What kind of crap are you spouting?”

Eloise shrugged. “Then how else am I supposed to explain this weird combo?”

Joslyn whipped out her phone and quietly started recording everything going down.

Bobby shot back, “So you think this is something to brag about?”

Eloise replied, “I’m not the one who did anything wrong.”

Bobby was fuming. “Can you just stop talking? Ever since you started seeing Grayson, you’ve been getting crazier and crazier.”

Eloise raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

‘Am I really going crazy?’

‘Sweet, I love that wild side of Grayson, Eloise thought.

Seeing Eloise smirk, looking all pleased with herself, Bobby was speechless.

‘Who even does that? She’s actually proud of being called crazy, Bobby thought.

Chloe jumped in, “Eloise, you’re shameless. You actually think being called crazy is a compliment? Don’t you feel embarrassed when people call your mom a homewrecker? You’re just the bastard your mom had after hooking up with my dad!”

“Chloe, do you believe I’ll kill you?” Joslyn couldn’t hold back her rage.

Eloise’s expression didn’t change at all, as if Chloe’s words weren’t even about her.

Back when she worked as Beckett’s secretary, she’d dealt with every kind of person and heard every insult imaginable. She’d built up a thick skin ages ago. No way a few words could make her lose her cool now.

“Chloe, you’re totally into Grayson, aren’t you?” Eloise teased.

Chloe shot her a confused look. “What’s it to you?”

Eloise smirked, “I can totally see it. You’re head over heels for him, and you’re dying to marry him.”

Eloise suddenly switched topics. “Do you even know how many packs Grayson’s got on his abs? Bet you don’t, but I do. And do you know where his birthmarks are? Nope, but I do.”

Chloe was totally stunned.

Joslyn was cracking up, her shoulders shaking.

She’d thought Eloise would get bullied, but it turned out she was worried for nothing.

Eloise might look gentle, but she’d got some serious firepower when she needed it.

Seeing Chloe’s face like she’d just swallowed a bug was priceless.

Eloise smiled. “Chloe, do you know what Grayson said about you?”

Chloe couldn’t help but ask, “What did he say?”

Eloise arched her brows with a sly smile. “He said just looking at you makes him lose his appetite.”

Chloe looked like she was about to explode, her face practically red with fury.

“Eloise, you bitch, are you asking for it?” Chloe snapped.

Eloise just shrugged. “Why are you coming at me? Wasn’t me who said it.”

Chloe’s chest was heaving as she jabbed a finger at Eloise. “Your mom’s a homewrecker. What’s there to be proud of? You’ll always be the bastard kid, and I’ll always be above you!”

Eloise shot back, “Oh? And what exactly makes you so high and mighty? Is it because you can date a bunch of guys at the same time?”

Chloe was totally stunned.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Chloe snapped.

Joslyn cut in, “Really, Chloe? You haven’t? So what, was that woman I saw lying across those guys’ laps just a ghost or something?”

With a scowl, Chloe tried to steer the conversation away. “We’re talking about Eloise’s mom being a

homewrecker. Why are you bringing me up? Eloise, stop deflecting. You’re just a bastard, shameless, just as cheap as your mom.”

Eloise shrugged. “So what if I’m a bastard? I didn’t do anything wrong. It’s not like I forced them at gunpoint to hook up. Don’t blame me. I’m innocent.”

Lorelei was left speechless.

Bobby was stunned.

Chloe realized that calling Eloise a bastard didn’t bother her at all. Eloise just shrugged it off, and Chloe was

about to blow a fuse.

Joslyn leaned in and whispered in Eloise’s ear, “Did Grayson really say that about Chloe?”

Eloise replied, “Nah, I totally made that up.”

Joslyn was speechless.

She gave Eloise a thumbs-up.

‘Wow, Eloise has really mastered the art of throwing shade with a smile, Joslyn thought.

Vivian yanked Chloe back onto the couch. “Alright, chill out already.”

She’d totally underestimated Eloise. She thought her daughter’s fiery attitude would make Eloise suffer a little.

But that bastard kid had a mouth on her, never showed a hint of shame or insecurity about where she came

from.

Just like Lorelei, Eloise was totally unfazed.

Chloe grumbled, “Mom, why are you dragging me back?”

Vivian sighed, “Alright, that’s enough. We’re not here to argue today.”

Chloe bit her lip, shot Eloise a dirty look, and reluctantly quieted down.

Vivian gave Lorelei a look, prompting her to say something.

Lorelei really didn’t want to help Vivian, but with her son’s future at stake, she had to go along with it.

“Eloise, I heard Grayson snatched a few projects from the Carter family. Call him and ask him to return them,” Lorelei said.

Eloise smirked at her.

‘So that’s what this is all about, Eloise thought.

“Why are you bending over backwards for the Carter family? What, is Harvey planning to make you his second wife or something?” Eloise shot back.

Lorelei was about to lose it. She nearly marched over and slapped Eloise.

Bobby’s face turned grim. “Eloise, are you crazy? How could you say that to your mom?”

Vivian and Chloe were actually gloating, clearly enjoying the show.

Eloise said coolly, “Isn’t it? So why is she always jumping to help the Carters?”

Bobby’s face darkened, but he was at a loss for words.

Lorelei yelled, “Harvey’s your father! How could you let outsiders snatch his business? You’ve got no loyalty at all!”

Eloise shot back, “Grayson’s not some outsider. He’s my boyfriend, the father of my kid. So what if he took Harvey’s business? Harvey’s money never finds its way into my pocket, but when my boyfriend earns money, I get to spend it. So honestly, I’m all for it. He nailed it, and I couldn’t be happier.”

Joslyn clapped her hands. “Eloise, that was perfect!”

Eloise smirked, lips curling into a subtle smile.

Lorelei clutched her chest. “When did you start acting like this?”

Eloise grinned. “Isn’t this awesome? I’m loving it! I’m so happy!”

Lorelei was left speechless.

Eloise had changed so much, and Lorelei was totally at a loss for words.

Vivian finally spoke up, “He’s your father. Being so heartless is bound to bring you some retribution.”

Eloise turned to look at Vivian, the woman who’d barely said a word the whole time.

“Retribution? Come on, I’m a model citizen, practically an angel. What kind of karma could possibly hit me? If anyone’s getting payback, it’s definitely some other people,” Eloise shot back.

Vivian was done talking to Eloise and just shot Lorelei a threatening look.
