Grayson Pierce and Eloise Caldwell novel Chapter 62

Chapter 62 She’s Mine

Eloise didn’t care about any of that. She just liked being with her son, Noah.

Juliette drove Eloise to pick up Noah, and the three of them had dinner at a restaurant near Eloise’s home.

After dinner, Juliette dropped Eloise and Noah off at their place. She then went upstairs to Eloise’s apartment and stayed to chat for a while.

While Noah was in the shower, Juliette pulled Eloise aside and asked, “Are you still planning to tell Grayson about Noah?”

Eloise hesitated for a moment before answering, “I think I’ll wait and see.”

Her existing hesitation had deepened after meeting Camille, whose dark vibe gave her a distinctly bad feeling. The thought of Camille discovering Noah filled her with dread.

Juliette asked, “Are you afraid of Camille?”

“Kind of,” Eloise replied, feeling uneasy.

Juliette patted Eloise’s shoulder, understanding her concerns. “Let’s just hold off for now,” Juliette suggested.

After Juliette left, Eloise got a message from Grayson. The message said: [I’m coming back tomorrow.]

Eloise didn’t reply.

The next day at noon, Eloise was at a hotel with Beckett, having lunch with some suppliers.

Suddenly, a woman ran over and dumped a glass of water right on Eloise’s head. Eloise had no idea who this crazy woman was, completely blindsided.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Beckett’s furious voice cut through the air. Then he grabbed some tissues, ready to wipe Eloise’s face.

The woman charged at Eloise, claws out, aiming straight for Eloise’s face. “You slut! Man-stealer! How dare you try to seduce Beckett? I’ll ruin your pretty face,” she shouted.

But Beckett was faster. He stepped in front of Eloise and sent the crazy woman crashing to the floor.

The woman burst into loud sobs. “Beckett, you’ve gone too far. You actually pushed me. I’m going to tell Cyrus

about this.”

Beckett didn’t even spare the woman a glance. He just turned to Eloise.

Eloise grabbed a handful of tissues and wiped the water off her face, hair, and clothes, trying to pull herself together.

Beckett turned to the woman, his voice sharp. “Giavanna, are you out of your mind? What the hell are you doing, making a scene here?”

Eloise froze. ‘Wait, she’s the Jenkins family’s heiress? Didn’t Beckett say she wasn’t interested in him?’ she wondered, confused.

From the way Giavanna was acting, it was clear she saw Eloise as her competition and was just looking for a fight.

Giavanna pouted, “Beckett, is it because of her that you won’t be with me?”

“What are you talking about?” Beckett snapped.

“I’m not making it up. Look at her. She’s got that homewrecker vibe. She’s obviously trying to steal you away,” Giavanna shot back.

“Giavanna, we have nothing to do with each other. Who I choose to be with is none of your business. Apologize to Ms. Caldwell. Now,” Beckett said coldly.

“I won’t,” Giavanna retorted, stubbornly.

“Then get the hell out,” Beckett snapped.

“Beckett, you’ve gone too far. No one’s ever treated me like this,” Giavanna yelled, her voice shaking with rage.

She was the Jenkins family’s heiress, pampered since birth. Nobody ever dared to be mean to her.

Beckett didn’t even look at Giavanna. His eyes were fixed on Eloise. “Giavanna, we’re not a match. I’ll let this go today, but there won’t be a next time. Get out,” he said coldly.

Giavanna had never been treated like this in her life, and she pinned all the blame on Eloise. She shot Eloise a vicious glare. “Just you wait, you bitch. I’ll make you pay for this.”

Giavanna stormed off, fuming, and got into a car waiting by the entrance.

“Tessa, you were right. Beckett’s completely bewitched by that woman,” Giavanna snapped.

Tessa shrugged, “I told you, Beckett’s just not into you. Stop wasting your time.”

Giavanna huffed, “I’m not giving up. If I want something, I always get it. She’s just a secretary. She doesn’t even matter. I know exactly how to handle her.”

Tessa’s face darkened. “Are you out of your mind? What’s so great about Beckett, anyway?”

Giavanna had only dated Beckett once, but she’d fallen for him instantly. Her dad had already called Cyrus, trying to set up a marriage between the two families.

If Beckett married Giavanna, his status in the Hayes family would skyrocket, and he might even snatch the inheritance from Tessa’s older brother, Taylor Hayes.

Taylor had gotten into a car accident and was left in a coma, and Beckett ended up taking over all Taylor’s projects and trusted people.

If Beckett claimed the inheritance, Taylor and Tessa would be in a tough spot. That was why Tessa couldn’t let Beckett marry Giavanna.

Tessa brought Giavanna here to show Giavanna Beckett only had eyes for Eloise, hoping Giavanna would finally give up.

Tessa knew exactly what Giavanna was like. Giavanna couldn’t stand anyone getting in her way. Tessa was sure Giavanna would cause a huge scene. And when that happened, Beckett would only think worse of

Giavanna.

But Tessa had never expected Giavanna to be so stubborn. Giavanna just wouldn’t give up on Beckett, no matter what.

‘Seriously, she’s going to drive me nuts, Tessa thought, exasperated.

Giavanna said, “Tessa, I know exactly what you’re up to, but I like Beckett, and I’m going to look out for him. So don’t try to use me against him.” With that, Giavanna hopped out of the car.

After all that drama, the suppliers didn’t stick around. They made their excuses and left early.

Beckett took off his jacket and wrapped it around Eloise. Her clothes were soaked through.

Eloise tried to shrug it off, but Beckett held it in place. “Eloise, leave it on. You’ll catch a cold if you take it off,” he said, concern in his voice.

“It’s fine, Mr. Hayes,” Eloise said, trying to refuse the jacket.

“Eloise, don’t turn me down. This happened because of me, and I really should apologize,” Beckett said.

Eloise let it go and kept the jacket on. “You don’t have to apologize, Mr. Hayes. I’m kind of used to this,” she replied.

Beckett was clearly embarrassed. Back in Ucrevine, Eloise had coffee thrown at her because of all the drama with his crazy admirers.

“Let’s go grab you some new clothes at the mall next door,” Beckett suggested.

“No need,” Eloise said.

“Eloise,” Beckett called out. He grabbed her wrist, refusing to let her go.

Just as Eloise tried to break free, someone ran over, shoved Beckett aside, and pulled her into a quick spin.

Eloise caught that familiar woody scent in the air. She glanced up. Of course, it was Grayson standing there, looking as handsome as ever.

Without hesitation, Grayson yanked Beckett’s jacket off Eloise and tossed it right back at Beckett. Then he immediately shrugged off his own jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders.

“You’re not allowed to wear any other guy’s clothes,” Grayson said, his tone possessive and unmistakably jealous.

Eloise snapped out of it. “Why are you here?”

“If I didn’t show up, how would I catch you flirting with another guy?” Grayson said.

“I wasn’t,” Eloise protested.

“Don’t even try to deny it,” Grayson cut her off.

Why am I even bothering to explain myself to Grayson? It’s not like we are a thing,’ she thought.
