Grayson Pierce and Eloise Caldwell novel Chapter 65

Chapter 65 Always Had You In His Heart

Eloise remembered she still hadn’t picked up her car. “Grayson, I need to go get my car,” she said.

Grayson replied, “Someone will bring it to your place soon. The repair shop was missing a part, so they had to order it from somewhere else. It just got fixed today.”

“Sorry for the trouble. How much did it cost? I’ll send you the money,” Eloise said.

Grayson didn’t answer.

Eloise didn’t want to owe him anything. “Grayson…” she called out.

“Eloise, why do you always have to keep it this formal?” Grayson said.

Eloise replied, “We’re not family or anything. I can’t let you pay for this.” Grayson tightened his grip on the steering wheel. “I want you to owe me.”

She knew Grayson would never tell her the actual cost, so she just randomly transferred him 600 bucks, figuring that should be about right.

“Grayson, just take it,” Eloise said.

Grayson didn’t say a word. So Eloise could only sigh inwardly.

As soon as they arrived at Eloise’s place, Eloise’s car was delivered. Grayson parked it in the underground garage for her.

Noah’s eyes lit up when he saw Grayson. “Mr. Pierce,” Noah greeted.

Grayson walked over and ruffled Noah’s hair.

Eloise thought Grayson would stay for dinner, but he got pulled away unexpectedly. From what she overheard, it sounded like something had gone wrong with one of his projects.

That night, Eloise got a message from Grayson. He was on a business trip again.

The next day at noon, Eloise got a call from Hannah. “Eloise, I’m downstairs at your office,” Hannah said.

“Mrs. Pierce, what brings you here? Did you come by yourself?” Eloise.asked.

Hannah replied, “Yes, I took a cab over.” Her bodyguards had already disappeared, and the fancy car was nowhere to be seen.

Eloise was uneasy about leaving Hannah alone downstairs. If Hannah fainted on the street again like last time, it’d be a real mess. She rushed downstairs.

Hannah greeted Eloise with a warm smile and grabbed her hand. “Hey, Eloise.”

“Mrs. Pierce, next time let someone drive you. Don’t come out on your own, it’s not safe,” Eloise said.

Hannah chuckled. “Don’t worry, I’m still healthy as ever. I’m hoping to see you and Grayson have children of your own someday.”

Eloise’s cheeks flushed bright red. “Mrs. Pierce, I’ve told you, Grayson and I aren’t like that.”

“I know you’re still mad at that brat. I’m rooting for you, sweetheart. Don’t let him off easy,” Hannah said.

Eloise replied, “It’s not that. Things are complicated between us. Honestly, there’s just no chance for us.”

“Grayson told me you two started seeing each other five years ago,” Hannah said.

Eloise hadn’t expected Grayson to spill the beans to Hannah.

Hannah couldn’t help defending her grandson. “The men in our family are loyal to the core. Grayson hasn’t been with anyone else all these years. He’s always had you in his heart.

“No matter what happened between you two, give him a chance. Don’t be so quick to write him off.”

Eloise’s eyes turned red. Knowing Graysongwe may joe’se all these years, she couldn’t help but

feel a little happy inside.

Hannah didn’t push Eloise to make any decisions. She just took Eloise’s hand and led Eloise toward a nearby restaurant. “Let’s get something to eat first,” she suggested.

After their meal, Eloise drove Hannah back to Pierce Manor, then returned to the office.

Hannah didn’t want Eloise to drive her back. Eloise just couldn’t bring herself to leave Hannah alone.

Hannah knew she’d picked the right person. She was sure Eloise was the perfect granddaughter-in-law.

Eloise had just parked when Camille showed up. Eloise never trusted Camille’s intentions and didn’t want to get dragged into anything with Camille. She tried to dodge her and head out.

Camille grabbed Eloise arm, her eyes flashing with malice. “Don’t you dare walk away.”

Eloise frowned and yanked her arm free. “Ms. Hopkins, if you’ve got a problem, go talk to Grayson.”

Camille splashed her coffee straight into Eloise’s face. “You bitch. This is all your fault.”

Eloise was caught completely off guard, coffee dripping down her face as she stood there, stunned.

Beckett walked over and stood protectively in front of Eloise. “Do you have any idea where you are? How dare you make trouble in my company.”

Without missing a beat, Beckett pulled out his phone and called for security.

Camille shot Eloise a venomous glare. “You really think you can just marry into the Pierce family? Dream on. Grayson’s just playing with you. He’d never marry you. Never gonna happen.”

Eloise frowned at Camille. “Ms. Hopkins, who I marry is none of your business. Keep dreaming. If you keep harassing me, I’ll call the cops,” Eloise added.

Just then, two security guards rushed over. Camille gritted her teeth and took off in a flash.

Beckett turned to Eloise. “Your clothes are a mess. Let me buy you something new to wear.”

“Mr. Hayes, really, you don’t have to. I’ll take care of it myself,” Eloise replied.

Beckett remembered he had a meeting soon, so he let it go.

Eloise got in her car, and glanced down at her clothes. They were a total mess. First splashed with water by Beckett’s crazy admirer and then with coffee by Grayson’s, she had had enough of the drama.

She drove to a nearby mall, bought a new outfit, quickly changed, and tossed her dirty clothes in the back seat before heading back to work.

Word spread like wildfire that Eloise was Grayson’s first love, and soon everyone in Ekloland was talking about

Even the people at Hayes Group heard the news, and their attitude toward Eloise flipped overnight. She couldn’ t even ride the elevator without several people greeting her.

Among them were the two who’d been gossiping about her outside VirtuFusion Group last time, only to get caught by Grayson. Those two were especially eager to please her now.

That afternoon, Cyrus called Eloise into his office and talked with her for ages. He was extra nice, even saying he’d give her a raise.

Eloise knew it was all because of Grayson. It didn’t sit right with her. She wanted to keep her distance from Grayson, but somehow, they just kept getting tangled up together.

These people didn’t care what Eloise said. No matter how she tried to explain, they simply wouldn’t listen.

It was all because Grayson himself had said it outright. He had told everyone that Eloise was his first love, the one he had always loved.
